Prophecies of the messiah not fulfilled by Jesus:

Once he is King, leaders of other nations will look to him for guidance. (Isaiah 2:4)

The whole world will worship the One God of Israel (Isaiah 2:17)

All Israelites will be returned to their homeland (Isaiah 11:12)

There will be no more hunger or illness, and death will cease (Isaiah 25:8)

All of the dead will rise again (Isaiah 26:19)

Weapons of war will be destroyed (Ezekiel 39:9)

The Temple will be rebuilt resuming many of the suspended mitzvot (Ezekiel 40)

He will then perfect the entire world to serve God together (Zephaniah 3:9)

HOW LONG DID JESUS INDICATE HIS DISCIPLES WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR HIS RETURN?

• Jesus indicated the "wait" would indeed be "long". Of course "long" is relative, but note Jesus' reply when asked specifically on timing, "It does not belong to you to know the times or seasons that the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction" so Christians were to understand that the wait was to be accepted as being from a divine, not a human perspective.
  
  
  
  The Apostle Peter later wrote at 2 Pet 3:8 that "a thousand years for a thousand years are like a day to God" so even a seven-thousand year wait would be just a short week from the perspective of He who would be deciding in how long the "long" would be (Compare Acts1:7).

DELAYED : HOW LONG WILL IT SEEM?

• Jesus also spoke of himself as a "bridegroom" that is perceived as "delaying", so much so those waiting "became drowsy and fell asleep". So rather than indicating his return would be "soon", from a human perspective, (ie from the point of view of those waiting), Jesus indicated his return would actually appear to have been delayed.

  In another illustration, given to counteract first century expectations of an imminent return (See Luke 19:11), Jesus likened himself to “A man of noble birth [who] traveled to a distant land to secure kingly power for himself and to return.� (Luke 19:12). In bible times (without modern means of transport) traveling to distant lands took a considerable amount of time. In a paralell illustration, Jesus likened himself to a master that went away for "a long time" (Mat 25:19) Evidently these illustration given to convey that first century Christians should not expect his return to be imminent.

  In yet another illustration encouraging vigilance, Jesus likened himself to a master returning from a trip proposing "And if he comes in the second watch, even if in the third, and finds them ready, happy are they". According to Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible, the third watch corresponded to "any time between twelve and three" in the morning, generally considered too late for travel. Far from his return meeting first century expectations, Jesus warned it would come {quote}"at an hour that you do not think likely�, evidently far later than they thought possible.

LONG BUT NOT INDEFNITE

• The above illustration however clearly indicates that regardless of how "late" it would appear, the Master would return and the wait would at some point be over. Indeed, Jesus gave a series of explanations so his disciples could identify which "generation" that would witness his return. Interestingly he made several references to the book of Daniel where we also find the "time prophecies" related to Messianic rule. Astute bible students perceive they point to the 20th century (notably 1914) as being pivotal in identifying that biblical "generation".

CONCLUSION: Jesus indicated there would be a long wait between his first century ministry and his return in kingdom power. Astute bible students have long noted time prophecies that indicate that wait would indeed be thousands of years long but persist in heeding the warning to "Keep on the Watch"!

Firstly we don't believe Jesus "second coming" was in 1914, , the quotes refer not to Jesus second coming but to the end of the "Gentiles times" and Jesus parousia which neither you nor anybody could possibly disprove (even if you did know what "the Gentiles times" refers to).

Charles Russell and his associates were, however wrong about the end of the present world system of things. That event is, we believe, yet in the future; bringing us full circle back to the OP.
