...What next?

Does one just continue as before, with the assurance of eventual heaven? Or, is there something Christians ought to be, think, say and do I am unaware of?

Best wishes, 2RM.

Also, Jesus said that to gain everlasting life we must get to know his Father as well as Jesus himself. He said in prayer to the Father:

"This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ." (John 17:3)

Is getting to know the Father taught in most churches in the world? I would say that the majority of people don't even know His name, in spite of the fact that Jesus said that he would make the Father's name known (John 17:6,26).

It was important to Jesus, and I feel that it is important for Jesus' followers---true Christians. We must get to know both Jesus and his Father, and follow Jesus' example in our everyday lives.

"To this course you were called, because even Christ suffered for you, leaving a model for you to follow his steps closely." (I Peter 2: 21)

Check out "Paradise on Earth" at the end. He was exhibiting "blatant incivility" and threatening people.

He is a lousy example of who to emulate.

He didn't care if his disciples plucked corn on the sabbath. His way is disgusting. He is disgusting. Listening to him negate the laws. If he really loved anyone he tell them to keep the laws rather that downplay them. Disgusting he is.

Perfect example here

Swami says it all. It's all about eternity. Getting to the next world. That's all Christians care about. What they want

"I desire mercy, not sacrifice."

That is what He told the Pharisees to go and learn - that God desires mercy, not sacrifice - and if they had known what that means they would not condemn the innocent.

This is not disgusting. This is mercy; this is love; this is what God desires. My Lord understood and lived this. He and His way (which He learned from His Father who loves Him) are beautiful. Praise Jah!

Peace again to you all,
your servant and a slave of Christ,
tammy

Avoice, you are, yourself, what you say Jesus is. Please rethink your position.

It is permissible to be critical of Jesus on this site. But try to put a bit less emotion into your criticism, otherwise your post here borders on ranting. We try to avoid both ranting and preaching on this site, as both extremes tend to put a damper on rational, civil debate.

My theological positions:

-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.

I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

I am a bit confused.

You became a Christian, but have no one to consult on the next step other than online forums? Did you become a Christian only because of online posts, of the testimonial or argumentative type?

I must say this would be astounding: to become a Christian only via cyber mediums!

Perhaps a little background info would be helpful.

For instance, what do you mean by "I became a Christian"? What does such a statement mean to you?
