Pope's Address to Congress today?

I like this Pope but I doubt if he would allow a US President to address a similar type of meeting of Cardinals at the Vatican and addressing the many short comings of the Catholic Church and HOW that could address the concerns of millions of its adherents with respect to its inherent institutional hatred towards homosexuals, contraception and abortion and equal rights for women and stem cell research.

It was all apple pie and motherhood which few could object to..ie rather pointless! Pity he left out Thomas Jefferson and the founding Fathers, who gave them the right to worship in the land of the free. Next Stop Tehran, Riyadh, Mecca, and Te Aviv? ;)

I believe he was the FIRST Pope ever to address Congress and isn't this against what the founding Fathers stipulated ie separation of Church and State and there we are doing the exact opposite.
How so?

I am sorry abolishing the death penalty is not just about rehabilitating people. The justice system is imperfect innocent people will get convicted hundreds of folks have had their death penalty convictions overturned due to DNA evidence. There is significant data to suggest we have already been killing wrongly convicted folks. Additionally the death penalty is not a deterrent to crime either. It only serves to supply vengeance which is not justice.

Once he was here, he drove around in a Fiat, not a Limo...does that count for anything?

He is as humble as his office and station allows. If folks actually listen to him, he is full or compassion and humility.

Also, at Vespers, he prayed for the 700 or so Muslims who were trampled to death at the Hajj. This is what a world religous leader SHOULD do, and he does.

I think the man should be cut some slack before folks start leveling the "hypocricy" charge at him.
My theological positions:

-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.

I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

Sure , he was in his fiat amongst 20 armed SUVs. That is him shunning the fancy car for a fiat , nothing to do with the environment.

I am not going to take advice on caring for the environment from one who leaves a hundred if not a thousand times the footprint I ever will.

Then he chastised air conditioning , while probably preparing his speech in AC ?

Then busts on capitalism ?

Holy hypocrites batman !!
