So what are the first 2 laws of Moses(commandments)?
1. You shall have no other gods before me.
2. You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
These 2 commandments give it away on why Paul had to abolish the Laws of Moses for Christianity to work out.
Jesus reflected in his belief:
The first line tells us: Jesus had not come to abolish the law of Moses (clearly inconsistant with the ideology of Paul)"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."
Jesus then further tells us: "Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven"
Paul abolished the Laws of Moses, according to Jesus he will be least in the kingdom of heaven.
Questions for debate:By Christ all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses" (Gal. 2:16; 3:11; Acts 13:39)
1) Was Paul right to abolish the Laws Jesus believed and practiced?
2) Who gave Paul the authority to do something significant as "Abolishing Gods Law"?
3) What would Jesus think of Pauls attitude towards the Mosaic Law?
