From Matthew 16 we have:
17 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Discussion has taken place over what Christ meant here. It seems clear enough he was using a pun on Peter's name, a rock, when he was founding his earthly church on Peter's shoulders.
That would give authority to the RC Church which takes Peter as the first Pope.
However it is argued that Jesus meant that HE was the rock and he was founding his Church on himself, as rock. As the words stand, that seems a spurious interpretation.
So what do the words mean?
What is the church Christ founded?

I do believe what Peter said, and I still believe that what he said does not apply to all Christians, the same way it does not apply to God's servants before Christ.
Matt 11:11 Truly I say to you, among those born of women, there has not been raised up anyone greater than John the Baptist, but a lesser person in the Kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is.
I don't even think that all who call themselves "christians" are really Christians (Matt 7:21-23) .

I am assuming that this is an acknowledgment that post 80 is true, yes?
On to your point:
God was teaching Israel the difference between the holy and the common, and there was a distinction between the priesthood and the common people. And this helps us to get a sense of the Kingdom to come. But the entire nation of Israel were meant to be kings and priests in that Kingdom. Had Israel (as a nation) not rejected Christ, then the entire nation would have been kings and priests with Him in His Kingdom. The subjects of the Kingdom would have been from people of the nations (non-Israel).
Instead, Israel (as a nation) rejected Christ, making room for Gentiles to be called and chosen as well. 144 000 places are reserved specifically for Israel, but the rest of the great crowd are from every tribe and nation and people and tongue (all of whom serve IN the temple; all of whom wear white robes made clean in the blood of the lamb; all of whom are Christian).
So that:
All Christians are indeed the bride (and anointed with holy spirit); and all reign as kings and priests with Christ in His Kingdom. The subjects of the Kingdom are those people of the nations who are not Christian but who are invited into the Kingdom on the basis of what they have done (unknowingly) for Christ. From the sheep and the goats parable:
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
**
Side note: The WTS uses that parable to gain support for itself. (The WTS has also changed its interpretation of the parable more than once.) But this is what the WTS says about the deeds of the sheep:
That is not one of the things that Christ mentioned (it cannot be, since the sheep are not Christian).
Not one of these things are what Christ mentioned. Not one.

May anyone who wishes them be given ears to hear, and to know the truth of these things from THE Truth: Christ Jaheshua. May anyone who wishes and anyone who thirsts, "Come! Take the free gift of the water of Life!"
Peace again to you,

Tam, if you are a Bible student, you probably know that in Israel not all Israelites were priests ... so it should not be too difficult for you to understand that not all Christians will be priests either.

Side note: The WTS uses that parable to gain support for itself. (The WTS has also changed its interpretation of the parable more than once.) But this is what the WTS says about the deeds of the sheep:
Therefore, one of the primary ways that those judged to be sheep show kindness to Christ’s brothers is by supporting them in the preaching work.
That is not one of the things that Christ mentioned (it cannot be, since the sheep are not Christian).
The growing number of prospective sheep count it a privilege to support Christ’s brothers not only in the preaching work but also in other practical ways. For example, they give financial contributions and help to build Kingdom Halls, Assembly Halls, and branch facilities, and they loyally obey those appointed by “the faithful and discreet slave to take the lead.
Not one of these things are what Christ mentioned. Not one.

Post #94False. God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit are three distinct Persons. The three together are One.IaLoaou wrote: God is the Holy Spirit the Father of Jesus Christ.
The two are joined together as one.

Post #97Not one that you have the wisdom or the spirit to see it
or if you did you would know the point to my words you
would not have to ask me if I have a point.
Re: Jehovah's Witnesses the truer followers of Jesus[pbuh]
Post #98This you have stated is false and a man-made doctrine and is not of God.
I can prove it but you cannot prove what you stated.
Because what you stated is not the truth and is contradicting itself.
