Did Christ have free will?

:study:

Did Jesus/Yeshua/whateverhisname have free will. We see him quote" the son can only do as the father has instructed". Or was he so devoted to the father it never was an issue?

So, was he locked into the doctrine? Or could he act of his will? I can see examples of both. What do you all see?

[quoteThe implication of HIM only knowing HIS own works suggests that when HE created us with a free will, that HE did not create the results of our free will decisions but left those decisions up to us to created by choosing them and bringing them into reality. Thus HE would not know those decisions, ie, who would sin the unforgivable sin for instance, until we chose our decisions

I understand what you're saying, but fail to see how it accords with what we read in the bible. I did a simple word search for the word "betray" and that alone provides many verses which confirm God's foreknowledge of what a person will decide(do).

Mark 14;18 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.

This in reference to Judas of course. Your argument states that God would not know what Judas was thinking, and what he would decide to do. That conflicts with the passage as you can see. Another example..

John 6;64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

Here Jesus makes it abundantly clear that he knows what each person thinks, and knows in advance what they will decide to do. If you are familiar with the bible, you'll know there are many other passages which say this in different ways- god knows in advance what a person, or people will think and do.[/quote]
