Pope Boniface VIII (1235-1303 CE) promulgated a Papal Bull in 1302 CE titled Unam Sanctam (One Holy).
"Urged by faith, we are obliged to believe and to maintain that the Church is one, holy, catholic, and also apostolic. We believe in her firmly and we confess with simplicity that outside of her there is neither salvation nor the remission of sins...In her then is one Lord, one faith, one baptism [Ephesians 4:5].
….Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff."
Here's a teaching which meets the requirements for an infallible papal teaching (ex cathedra).
Do even Catholic believe it anymore?
Before Vatican II, there were about 14 infallible papal teachings. Now we're down to two, and it's arguable if they meet the requirement for papal infallibility.
Infallible that there are only Catholics in heaven

Can't quote chapter and verse, (or bull and encyclical) but Catholics no longer believe that God's love and mercy is confined by their dogma. That us the domain of Evangelicals nowadays.
My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

The whole idea of a religious authority based upon the superstition that an invisible man in the sky is watching everything we do and knows our every thought a desire and will condemn us to hell if we don't join and obey an authoritative church has already lived long beyond its time.
The only thing that is truly amazing is that so many people still believe these types of religious claims. Of course the protesting Protestants did protest against this at one time. Their problem was that they continued to believe in the invisible man in the sky and simply rejected the religious authoritarians of the Catholic Church. The irony is that they actually become religious authoritarians of their own protesting views.
Why people can't accept that there is no invisible man in the sky at all is the real question.

But Vatican II changed many such previous (unchangeable) infallible teachings to new (unchangeable) infallible teaching. Catholics just have to go with the flow!

We now understand there is no such thing as 'up' or 'down' although why some people can't accept that there is no 'up' or 'down' at all, is another real question.
Still, even great and powerful institutions can change their policies, so there is always hope.
Materialist skeptics would be the hardest of people to get to change their policies, and it wouldn't surprise me if such types were eventually the only ones left in the universe having their own version of fun, undisturbed by notions of alternate realities and such.
That is, of course, if their inventions don't beat them to the punch.
Fascinating stuff!
The concept comes from OOBE/NDE experiences where the earths atmosphere was thought to be where heaven existed and people went 'up' into that. Why people can't accept that there is no invisible man in the sky at all is the real question.

Doctrines of men being taught as Law of God, was going on in Yeshua's day too. Someone will always claim the true path and once they do, I know its not. Many paths lead to enlightenment. They do converge at a gate. Many are the ways to reach this. And truth be told, we don't know but a few and never know God's full thoughts or qualifications for entry. Best thing is to run your own life as best you can. Be good, do good, and therefore begat good.

Post #9The position of Roman Pontif originated with the high priests of the Roman pagan church, who were in charge of the gods and the calendar. Julius Caesar, after he cross the Rubicon, usurped that position as Pontif, and subsequent to his death, he was made a god by the Senate. His succesors, the Augusts Caesars, inherited his position and god head, and the instituter of the Roman Catholic church, Constantine, under the position of the Roman Pontif, convened the Council of Nicaea, and instituted the Roman Church with its false doctrine of the Trinity, built upon the foundations of the false prophet Paul, and the "worthless shepherd" (Zechariah 11:17), Peter, and his heir, the pope, who was to inherit the position of keeper of the gods, and calendar. The pope will "fall", and those "hanging" on to him will be "cut off" (Isaiah 22:25).polonius.advice wrote: Pope Boniface VIII (1235-1303 CE) promulgated a Papal Bull in 1302 CE titled Unam Sanctam (One Holy).
