Heaven

Post by Caligar »

I find that whenever I ask what heaven is, people say "a place you go to after you die". I also find that when I ask what you do there the answer is "whatever you want". What if two people wanted contradictory things?
I.e., if one person wanted to win a football game, and another person on the opposing team wanted the same (you'll have to pardon the bad example, but the point is applicable to most situations), what would happen?

What im basically asking is, what is heaven?

Are you referring to what one might consider heaven here on earth, like winning the football game? Or the spiritual realm in the bible?
What we do for ourselves dies with us,
What we do for others and the world remains

Never be bullied into silence.
Never allow yourself to be made a victim.

The spiritual realm (I reiterate, a bad example but the point is there)

Tough one. The reality is that if heaven exists, it can't be anything like what anyone alive could imagine it to be. Reason being: it is Gods realm, not humans. So heaven is what He dictates. Since I am told noone knows what God is thinking, planning, etc.... it would make it impossible for anyone to even hypothesize what heaven truly is because their concept would be based on their biases. I know that doesn't help, but it's the best I can figure.

Cal,

What is heaven ? Jesus Christ reveals heaven to us as --

1-heaven is God’s abode. He sits on a white throne.
2-heaven is the home of angels
3-there is only ONE door to heaven through which everyone must pass – Jesus Christ is that door.
4-the current heaven is old as well as the current earth we live on. These will be destroyed on Judgment Day and a New heaven + a New earth + all things new will be in place. The New Heaven is separate from the New Earth. Read Revelation 21 for the materials of the new heaven, the foundation, gates, etc.

5-humanity is now citizens of this earth. After judgment day, we will be separated into citizens of heaven vs hell. All the righteous among humanity who accept Jesus Christ as Saviour will live with Him in heaven. There will be no more tears, no suffering, no ugliness of any sort.

6-there will be animals in heaven just as there were in eden. The animals that are poisonous, predators will no longer bear this attribute. Instead, they will be gentle and harmless.
7-everybody in heaven are vegetarians. No meat-eating, no killing for food.
8-Man does not have to toil for food.
9-in heaven, there is no sun or planet system as we now have. God will be the sun.
10-there is no temple in heaven. God and Christ are the temple.

God bless.

In the Bible the word had few meanings. The sky, where God and spirit creatures dwelt and so-called "high" positions of authority in governments.

Heaven is God's realm also called the kingdom of God or kingdom of heaven as sometimes referred to in scripture.
Because God is Spirit he does not need a physical place but is more a concept or way of existing.

At the second coming Christ will establish God's way on this earth in no uncertain terms for he will put down all rebellion and opposition Rev.19, 1Cor.15v24/25.

When this earth has been cleansed by fire the holy city will come down and God Himself shall dwell among men Rev.21. Man will then be of glorified appearance in a new body in a new world - no longer of sinful flesh Phil.3v21, Rev.1v13-15. or like it.
