9/11 conspiracy theories

Those who believe that 9/11 was NOT … perpetuated by elements of the US government … cannot logically explain certain key issues.

[1] What caused the fall of WTC#7? It was not struck by debris, yet it fell. Coincidence?

[2] Why was NO aircraft debris ever discovered at the Pentagon site or the Shanksville site? Coincidence?

[3] Why do the events of 9/11 and 10/26/2001 so closely parallel the Reichstag Fire and the Enabling act of 1933? Coincidence?

[4] Why did the US intelligence community and VP Cheney obstruct a non-partisan congressional investigation of the events of 9/11? In any normal criminal investigation this act would otherwise be considered criminal all by itself. Coincidence?

[5] Why were arab terrorists that participated in 9/11 actually living in the home of FBI agents as their guests? Coincidence?

These last two items are verified by the congressional committee that investigated events and persons involved in 9/11. (source; INTELLIGENCE MATTERS by Senator Bob Graham)

It is not internet rumor and it is not supermarket tabloid gibberish. It is fact that cannot [ignored] as being insane conspiracy theorists.

Question for debate: Can these issues be explained without conspiracy theories?

A conspiracy theory is "just a theory". Evolution is "just a theory". Evolution is true, therefore 911 conspiracy theories are true.

It's not strictly true that they depend on lots of people keeping a secret. They depend on the secret not being believed when it does come out. Let an uncomfortable truth be labeled a 'conspiracy theory' and anyone putting that truth forward will be dismissed as a nut.

The best reason not to believe most conspiracy theories is that they rely on the government being more competent than they are. When the US and UK governments did try to lie to their people big time - over Iraqs non-existent weapons of mass destruction - it was an embarrassing fiasco.

I think people like conspiracy theories because they don't like the idea that things some times 'just happen'. The same mentality applies to certain theists. The idea that someone - a god or a cabal of oligarchs - is in control is more comforting than the idea of a universe ruled by random chance.

And you're right that people want to cling to something that explains why 9/11 happened.

But 9/11 didn't happen by random chance. Nothing does apart from the subatomic level, because we live in a cause and effect world, which only seems random via intuition. There were warnings ahead of time that indicated something was going to happen, and of course bin Laden orchestrated the attack for a reason -- many of those reasons were grievances against US foreign policy in the region. If you actually listen to the motives of terrorists, you'll find out that this is typically the case.

I agree that the puppets who we think are running the 'state' isn't competent to pull this kind of thing off, but those Power Elite are. The rest, the millions who work for them behind the scenes are paid off, rewarded with gifts, enjoy running corrupt businesses with absolutely no rules, enjoy special engagements where they are called ahead of time and get to watch these kind of horrors in front-row seats.

The Elite, the Illuminated Ones, those who took the chunk out of the Apple (like Eve did) never intended this to be some kind of secret, .. that would defy the whole purpose of doing such elaborate scheme. It was a clear show of power, and the pitiful lies to justify 9-11 AND what came after with the war on Iraq was intentional also.
Those that continue to defend these kind of horrific acts are doing it for a reward, or the reward is in the FUN of watching people still talk about it.

Of course it didn't happen by random chance, it was carefully orchestrated and even hinted on in movies many years before it happened. The only lingering fun they are having now after many years is listening to these Conspiracy theories, which they keep fueling by releasing more discriminating evidence to the public.

I mean it was interesting when we had nothing but a loop-film showing some Photoshop planes flying into the buildings over, and over, and over again, and all those videos that supposedly shown the planes flying into the buildings were so obvious, .. I mean you see the camera focus on the building for up to 15 seconds, and then BAM, the planes hit.. lol, I mean hmm... how did these people know that planes will come and hit the buildings? Gosh, I wonder?

Here's a clue: the above was, er, sarcasm. You know, a comment on the situation...and the hypocritical, considerably in over his head, policies Obama is finding himself in right now, NOT a claim that Iraq's WMD's were moved to Syria.

Though, come to think of it, I am also a bit bemused that you take anything that the CIA has put on its public website all that seriously. It strikes me as making about as much sense as believing the IRS when it says "we aren't targeting anybody and we're here to help the taxpayer," or any government agency that says "we're here to help you."

I would not say 'all conspiracy theories are false'. I would say that the vast majority of them are. There are so many conspiracy theories, sooner or later one will be right, just out of pure random chance.
