Who is being Inconsistent?

Conservatives tend to support the death penalty and oppose abortion.
Liberals tend to support abortion and oppose the death penalty.

Who is being inconsistent? Conservatives or Liberals?

why did we kill so many at Dresden, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki?
Is there anything more tempting than answering a rhetorical question?

Russia.

Well... aren't newborn and criminals both groups of humans? But you are correct on unborns. They can't be compared to humans.
Not to criminal humans.
I always thought that one of the major points of Christian religion was hope for all people including criminals. According to the Bible, criminals have the same access to Christian Heaven as any other believer in Jesus.

Denying criminals human rights and considering them less than humans, you contradict the teaching of the Christian Bible.
If babies are innocent, why did God command Moses to kill them?
I don't know, why did we kill so many at Dresden, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki?
How does that answer the question? Seriously. Wth are you talking about?
We killed a lot more innocent men, women and children in WWII than ancient Israel over did. If we have a right do defend ourselves, why didn't they?

That's interesting. Does a nation's right to self defense cover killing every last man, woman and child? If so, the Allies were far more merciful than the Israelis were to the inhabitants of Canaan or Ai or Jericho or the Amorites or..well I could go on but I think you get the point.

To restate, why do you deny God the same action your own country made?

I find it ironic when some who defend a 'woman's right to do with her own body as she wills' think it unfair when God does what He wills with His own creation.

Because they are two completely different entities...

Are you serious? I'm waiting for you to see what you are saying and drop it on your own... giving you enough rope, I suppose...

Please continue your thought. Don't worry about attacking atheists, just talk about and defend your own position.

You've got two standards, that is hypocrisy.

Ah you are a pantheist East of Eden. I did not realise. We are part of God...is that what you mean to say?

But how many cities and tribes has God laid waste to. I am sure he had his own justifications. Maybe they were unfair from another perspective but as you seem to admit God has the prerogative to do what he wants with us.

I think I could buy the pro-life argument from a Buddhist at least in so far as there is some internal consistency to their world view. The problem here is that because the Abrahamic God has a wide range of interpretations...many of which make that God seem arbitrary and even capricious....it kind of undermines any demands upon us to be consistent to his instructions....other than through fear of his reprisal.

All life is precious lest God wishes it dead or in pain...seems to be the message.

No, where did you get that from? I'm just applying the same standard to God that humans apply to themselves, i.e., the right to do with what is theirs as they will.

They were killed because they were a threat to Israel (just as the Allies killed innocents who were perceived as a threat to them in WWII) or they were living in gross immorality. God did the same in the Flood. You might want to take a lesson from that. ;)
