Should we expect our democratic State to act as a Good King?

Can we expect the better nature of Man can work as a "Good King"?

Is it the ideal State?

What is the point of having a state at all if not to act as a "good king"?

Personally I think nations are a thing that will be looked down upon in some utoptian future. Nationalism is ridiculous. Arbitrary borderlines that someone at some point drew on a map. We will identify with ideals and live in a fluid world with the most basic necessities regulated by a big UN like building and smaller regions or organizations people can join or not and get the benefits that come with it.
I doubt I will live long enough but I think all nations will disappear. All that will be left are cultures, traditions, languages and quirks and none will be bound to a land or some region.
