Does the same thing happen when you go to school?flitzerbiest wrote:
Please explain the rationale for proselytizing if not the belief that one's own faith/spirituality is superior to that of the targeted individual.
Doesnt the same thing happen anytime you enter into a debate? Right now, are you not taking the position that proselytization is cultural genocide and you believe that you position on this is superior to everyone elses?
Whats the difference between changing someones mind and "cultural genocide"?

If someone freely decides to change aspects of their culture, what business is it of yours? The South African apartheid culture thankfully changed, were we wrong to push that cause? Are we wrong to promote basic human rights in the Muslim world such as Afghanistan?flitzerbiest wrote:If it is their intention to make a JW or a Mormon out of me, then it is also their goal to replace my culture with their own.mormon boy51 wrote:A mormon or JW knocking on your door might be annoying but hes not there to force you to lose your culture.
"We are fooling ourselves if we imagine that we can ever make the authentic Gospel popular......it is too simple in an age of rationalism; too narrow in an age of pluralism; too humiliating in an age of self-confidence; too demanding in an age of permissiveness; and too unpatriotic in an age of blind nationalism."
