Ministry In Israel: Dealing with the Orthodox
Post #1So I deal a lot with the political situation in Israel and how it applies to Jewish evangelism. In this video http://www.youtube.com/v/WlHEPJAL_J8 Missionary Dan Sered talks about the ministry climate and how young Israelis are searching for truth. What do you think about Jewish ministry in Israel?
Re: Ministry In Israel: Dealing with the Orthodox
Post #2Patronizing, repulsive, and at bottom deeply antisemitic. The assumption that Jews need Jesus to avoid going to Hell negates the legitimacy of Judaism as a religion and is the propagandistic equivalent of the Holocaust; both are/were intent on the abolition and extinction of Judaism.chameleonz85 wrote:So I deal a lot with the political situation in Israel and how it applies to Jewish evangelism. Post #3Sorry but Judaism is based on being called to follow God, so if God says "This is my Son in whom I am well pleased" and the says "The Father and the Son are one" then you need to look back to your expectations, because God just revealed something that you never saw coming. What? The Messiah that was prophesied is really just God, oh we wanted a temporary solution to solve all our captivity problems. Sorry tangent, anyways go ask God to reveal His plan for the Jews and He will.cnorman18 wrote:

Post #4I'm sorry too; you don't get to redefine Judiasm and insist that Jews take the New Testament as the Word of God. We don't. Period, full stop.chameleonz85 wrote:Sorry but Judaism is based on being called to follow God, so if God says "This is my Son in whom I am well pleased" and the says "The Father and the Son are one" then you need to look back to your expectations, because God just revealed something that you never saw coming. "Messianic Jews" are hilarious people. They're also essentially traitors, and unwanted in the Jewish community - for good reason.

Most "Messianic Jews" were never Jewish. They don't publish statistics on the origins of their membership for that very reason. Most are Christians interested in Judaism, and some eventually go on to full conversion to Judiasm. I know several who came into the Covenant by that route.TheLibertarian wrote:"Messianic Jews" are hilarious people. Post #9You will find no place in the Jewish scriptures that say that. There is a big difference between the expectations of the Messiah for the Jewish faith, and the concept that is promoted by Christians..chameleonz85 wrote:Sorry but Judaism is based on being called to follow God, so if God says "This is my Son in whom I am well pleased" and the says "The Father and the Son are one" then you need to look back to your expectations, because God just revealed something that you never saw coming. The New Testament is not scripture to the Jews. It is arrogant on the Christian to think it is.
There is no prophecy in the Jewish Scriptures that is about Jesus, unless you shoe horn things into place, mistranslate, and write 'to' .. and out of context at that.
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

I will further say that the ones that are of Jewish heritage, the vast majority were 'secular', and not well education in the Jewish faith. The ex-Jews I know that converted to Christianity that did have any kind of solid Jewish background certainly did not go into a Messianic temple.. they out right converted, and claimed they were of the Christian faith, not Messianic Jewish.cnorman18 wrote:Most "Messianic Jews" were never Jewish.
