Did God create the devil?

Post by 4gold »

The Bible makes it clear that the earth, the universe, all matter, and all energy was created by God. Where I am unclear is to whether God created the devil.

Does anyone have any Bible verses that indicates whether God created the devil or not?

If He did create the devil, why not eliminate the opportunity for sin, by eliminating the devil?

If He did not, then who did and is that force more powerful than God?

Jesus would be displeased.
Would Jesus condemn people to Hell or would His love overcome. If God is a God of love as Christians are fond of quoting then what happened to the Love.
Jesus hates the wicked reprobated and tells them depart from me ye cursed into everlasting fire then on top of that He will witness their eternal torment..

rev 14

10The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

you better hope you are an elect vessel of mercy, thats your only hope..to escape this dreadful punishment..
This sort of kills the idea that all of God's works are Perfect including souls.

Strange that god would need retribution to last forever.

Only an imperfect God would need a repository for His mistakes.

Who would want to follow a God whose justice includes that we sin for 120 yrs and then must be punished for 120000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 yrs.

Strange that in life Jesus would not let us stone even one hooker and in death would allow us to stone mentally forever, sinners in Hell.

DL
They been kilt then see ya the judgment..

I can't help but think you are quoting the imagination of the author of revelations, not Jesus which leads me to think you "that you dont understand scripture at tall.." and are rather selective and self-serving.
Mostly it looks like your projecting.
Of course it is always the other guy.

The only people who could use being born again are those that don't use the brains they were born with.

You presume to much and don't say much of anything.
If all you can do is try and paraphrase some ambitious writings from some unknown writer about what you think you know then don't bother as I don't give out preaching merit badges so you can feel like you are doing the lord's work and feel good about yourself.
You seem to lack depth, maturity and understanding while foisting on us your rather self-serving bible-believing buzz words. If you like for a small fee I can give you bible study lessons.
Maybe Jesus was the Gnostic some thought he was.
