Isaiah 45
22 “Turn to me and be saved,
all you ends of the earth;
for I am God, and there is no other.
23 By myself I have sworn,
my mouth has uttered in all integrity
a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow;
by me every tongue will swear.
24 They will say of me, ‘In the Lord alone
are deliverance and strength.’”
All who have raged against him
will come to him and be put to shame.
25 But all the descendants of Israel
will find deliverance in the Lord
and will make their boast in him.
Philippians 2:10-11
English Standard Version
10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Is every knee meant to bow to God or to Jesus or is this evidence Jesus is God?
Jesus is God - Every knee shall bow

Well like I said I have a lot of threads proving Jesus is God you are welcome to post in. But I think you will end up moving on, rather than debating.
So I'll ask again.
How many names above all names are there?
Did Jesus get given the name above all names?

Well good question.
God gave Jesus his name and we are told in Revelation the following: The one who conquers I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will never depart from it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God (the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from my God), and my new name as well Re 3:12.
Can you see the implication? If not, can you understand how Christ was given a name above every name, and how the saints—whom I assume you cannot be one of, as you would need to believe you are God to receive that name—are involved in this?
You have much to learn Wootah!

Then answer the question?
edit: Having the name of God written on you, indicates that you are correctly marked. Not that you have the name of God.

So, what you're saying is that you don't share in that name in the same way Christ does? In other words, the name given to Christ and written on him doesn't in any way reflect the name given to and written on the saints?
I asked if you could see the implication, and it seems you have, but you've chosen to dismiss it.
Maybe you deny the Father gave Jesus his name?
By the way, no one has ever given God (Yahweh) His Name, or any of its derivatives.
Only created beings are named!

Post #55In effect, what you're saying is that you don't believe God's children share in His family name. Your response suggests that you don't fully understand the significance of the name, its meaning, and how it applies to those who strive to live according to it. It also reveals your lack understanding of the Lords words in Revelation 3.Wootah wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 9:13 pm [Replying to face2face in post #52]

The True Gospel is an invitation for individuals to separate from Gentilism and become "a people for the name" (Acts 15:14). To have the divine name of Yahweh inscribed upon someone makes them a member of God's family in glory (like Christ!) read John 17:21; Rev. 14:1; 2 Thess. 1:10; Rom. 5:2; 2 Pet. 1:4. A name carries authority, and the saints will wield such authority in the age to come, just as the angel who bore the name of Yahweh exercised authority in the time of Moses (Exod. 23:21).
In a single reply you have placed yourself outside of the Divine Family.
Was this your intention?

Before you respond, take some time to carefully consider what the servant prophecies are teaching and how Paul's mindset is in them!
Let's see how you go

Re: Jesus is God - Every knee shall bow
Post #58Yes, we are adopted into the family of God. And yes we are sons of God but we ain't God. God has a unique name above all names. Which he thinks Jesus is also worthy of. This is a problem for you because logically no non-God being can be worthy of that name.face2face wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 9:52 pmIn effect, what you're saying is that you don't believe God's children share in His family name. Apart from slurs, where are you going with this?
This was interesting.
Why do the redeemed people of God need two names? More importantly, why does God need a non-God's stamp of approval? If someone is marked with just the Father's name but not the Son's in your logic they won't be there. But that means God needs a non-Gods stamp of approval.Revelation 14:1 Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.
Proverbs 18:17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.

Re: Jesus is God - Every knee shall bow
Post #59It is understood that God is the highest of all and His name is above everyone's. Now, He GAVE Jesus the name above all other names of those on earth and in the heavens, under the Lordship of the Father....how can the giver of a name be subordinate to anyone else? He obviously has all the authority and power, and He gives it to whomever He wishes.Wootah wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 7:22 amOK but isnt the name above all names only for God?APAK wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 8:12 am
Now the context of Phil 2:10 is easy to gauge. Just read the verse before it to conclude who is Jesus.
(Php 2:9) Wherefore God highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name-
(Php 2:10) that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the earth,
Now who is deity again, God or his Son, Jesus?!

This concept is known as God manifestation, and it is what Christ taught, even though you may choose to reject it.
No slurs just pointing out the facts.

Like Jesus, you are correct that the Saints are not "Very God." However, like Jesus, we share in God's glory (as described in John 17). The name of God is given to those who represent Him and embody His character, just as "we shall be like him" — that is, like Christ. This does not mean we will be "Very Christ!" It simply means we will share in His character, just as Jesus shares in God's. I believe you understand the theological significance, but due to the influence of the "Jesus is God" dogma, you may not be able to fully grasp these truths.
