Daniel’s book still contains a few remaining secrets that are only now to be revealed. Most of us believe we are close to the time of the “catching away” of the church, the coming “Great Tribulation,” the revealing of God’s two witnesses, and the antichrist and his High Priest. These few remaining mysteries will be revealed and understood solely to exalt God and to inspire us. They are to be applied to truth by supernatural communication, through the Holy Spirit. Secrets that have remained hidden from us until the fullness of time, which I believe is now.
These remaining mysteries have been stamped with a special character on all who embrace them and invest in those who receive them, special insights. I believe Daniel’s prophecies still hold secrets that are now only being revealed. Here are the two verses under discussion. Here is how I understand the two verses. My comments are in (---). Also remember, the first 49 years of the 490 years are past and the next 434 years begin in Daniel 9:26.
Daniel 9:26-27, “After threescore and two weeks (434 years) shall Messiah (Jesus) be cut off (middle to end of October of 27 A.D.) but not for himself (to save the lost sheep of the house of Israel): and the people (Roman Legions) of the prince (the Lord) that shall come shall destroy the city (Jerusalem) and the sanctuary (Herod’s Temple); and the end (of the Temple and city) thereof shall be with a flood (70 A.D. was Israel’s end) and into the end of the war desolations are determined.”
Verse 27, “And he Jesus) shall confirm the covenant (his new covenant) with many (Jews) for one week (7 years): and in the middle of the week (3 ½ years) “he” (Jesus) shall cause the (Temple) sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it (the Temple) desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
There’s a great deal of surface information in the above two verses, and even more, hidden beneath the surface in carefully chosen words written in both verses. Let’s begin with several questions. Remember, Daniel wrote in ancient Hebrew with a touch of the ancient Chaldean. He uses words not found in any other book of the Bible, so careful study is needed. Here are my three questions.
1. Who do you think the “he” is?
2. And who caused the Temple sacrifices and offerings to cease?
3. What covenant is to be confirmed for 7 years, but the person who brought the covenant to the Jews was cut off after 3 ½ years?
We can begin with these three questions; what are your thoughts?

Post #32When the 10 Northern tribes fell into idolatry, the LORD sent in the Assyrians. When the two Southern tribes sinned, Jehovah sent in Nebuchadnezzar. For killing the Son of God, the LORD sent in the Roman legions led by Titus. But in the Great Tribulation, the time of Jacob's trouble, the Jews will suffer, at the hands of the Gentiles, most likely the Islamic nations led by the antichrist and his high priest, the 2ed beast of Revelation 13.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 2:20 pmSo the first part of the verse reads ...placebofactor wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 1:14 pmCorrect.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 10:53 amSo (just to clarify ) in Daniel 9v27 when the verse refers to "the many " it is referring to the Jews. I don't understand your answer, with regards DANIEL 9: 27, would you agree with the statement below : yes or no?" He {God} will keep covenant X in force /strength [exclusivly*] for the Jews for a week { 7 years}"
When Daniel wrote this in 521 B.C. the Jews were under God's curse. Their sin were both idolatry and the breaking of the Law. Their Temple was destroyed, so the Jews had no way of having their sins forgiven. Around 408 B.C., Malachi wrote this concerning the Jews and their second Temple sacrifices. Malachi 1:10, "I (the LORD) have no pleasure in you, neither will I accept an offering at your hand." So, Jehovah was going to bring the Jews a new covenant, a new King, and High Priest. So, he sent his Son to confirm these things.
Jeremiah wrote the following 600 years before Jesus was born.
Jeremiah 31:31, “Behold, the days (still future) come, saith the LORD (the Father), that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and the house of Judah (all 12 tribes).” This was the promise.
Jeremiah 31:33, “I will (future tense) put my law in their (Israel’s) inward parts and write it in their hearts and will be their (Israel’s) God, and they (the Jews) shall be my people.”
The wording reveals that the Jews were at that time no longer God's people, he had rejected them. How was he going to bring them back under his fold?
Daniel 9:27, “He (the Son of God) shall confirm the covenant with many (the Jews) for one week (7 years);”
The new covenant is called the “Good News, or the Gospel.” The condition of Israel when Jesus began his ministry was; that the Jews had fallen into sin, their Temple sacrifices were being rejected because they were blemished and corrupt, the priests were corrupt, and the Romans were holding them in bondage.
The condition of this new covenant would be as follows.
The Son of God would be sent by his Father, to fulfill his will, and to take away Israel's sins. This is what Daniel prophesied.
Jesus came to destroy the work of the devil.
He would be the propitiation for the sins of both the Jews and Gentiles.
He was to establish his kingdom and put love in the hearts of all men.
He was to make an end of sin. To make reconciliation for iniquity, he was to be the last sacrifice. A Lamb without spot or blemish.
He was to make peace as the mediator between man and God together.
Jesus is both a peacemaker and Israel’s peace. He is Israel's Messiah, their King, and their High Priest.
He is the atonement.
And the merit of his sacrifice is our righteousness.

So (just to clarify ) in Daniel 9v27 when the verse refers to "the many " it is referring to the Jews. Is that what you think?

My response:
I agree with you on your above statement. You said “They are to be applied to truth by supernatural communication, through the Holy Spirit. Secrets that have remained hidden from us until the fullness of time, which I believe is now.”
Revelation is only perceived by “Revelation” As you stated ““They are to be applied to truth by supernatural communication, through the Holy Spirit. Secrets that have remained hidden from us until the fullness of time, which I believe is now.”
I agree fully. For example the two prophets which will prophesy in Jerusalem for 3 1/2 years and exercise great priesthood powers will require great levels of revelation as shown in Revelation 11.
My response: As you said in the above: “I believe Daniel’s prophecies still hold secrets that are now only being revealed.”
This certainly highlights the necessity for revelation to clearly understand the latter day revelations spoken of by Daniel/
My response to the above: “(to save the lost sheep of the house of Israel):”
We should remember that as Christ so clearly testified “I am not sent, but unto the lost sheep of Isreal” The apostles were charged with the responsibility of bringing the gospel not only to the Jews, but to the gentile nations as well.
This is clearly not the case with Christ as stated above. So evidently Christ was to be sent to the other tribes of Israel I.e. the tribe of Joseph (Ephraim and Manassah) and the ten lost tribes.

This is an interesting subject to discuss and important because it affects everyone living. It's my favorite subject, because it involves the events happening today in the Middle East, Israel, and the Islamic world. If you have no input, then ask me a question. If you don't, I'll have to go to my Captains room and start talking to myself
My responses to your three questions:
Have you considered that the “he” may be the Holy Messiah? Did he not provide the “great and last sacrifice” (atonement) which was to end the practice of the law of sacrifice of animals which were performed in “similitude” of the great and eternal sacrifice provided by the Holy One of Israel in the Meridian of time?
2. Was not Christ the very one who was cut off after his Three year ministry was finished wherein he as God’s only begotten Son provided the infinite eternal great and last sacrifice which was to end the animal sacrifices which they themselves could not save us since they were offered in similitude of the holy one of Israel who was indeed the lamb of God who was verily foreordained to become the lamb slain from before the foundations of the world to redeem all mankind?
3. I will answer your third question by asking a few questions:
What is the covenant spoken of and what are the terms and condition of this covenant?
Who has or who can make this covenant?
How does one personally prepare to make this covenant?
Who can break this covenant?
What are the eternal promises of this covenant?
What is the eternal power and nature of he who has made this covenant?
In conclusion my answer to your third question is a great Hebrew response calculated to stimulate Meditation, Pondering and deeper understanding of the implications of your question....

3. I will answer your third question by asking a few questions:
What is the covenant spoken of and what are the terms and condition of this covenant?
The coming of the Son of God is the new covenant. Isaiah 42:6, "I the LORD (the Father) have called you (his Son) in righteousness and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and give you for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles."
Who has or who can make this covenant?
See the above verse, "I the LORD" The Father alone declared it, the Son fulfilled it, and the Holy Spirit oversees it.
How does one personally prepare to make this covenant?
It was prophesied in the O.T., and it will be fulfilled. As of now, it has only been partially fulfilled, 3 1/2 years remain, this is according to Daniel's prophesy. When Jesus died, all temple sacrifices would be rejected. He is the last sacrifice received by the Father. From Isaiah to Malachi and from Malachi to Christ, any, and all temple sacrifices were for naught.
Isaiah 1:11 was written 700 years before the birth of Jesus. The Lord is speaking to the Jews. "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs of he goats."
Note "Lambs;" There goes the "Daily sacrifice. 599 B.C. Nebuchadnezzar removes all the precious vessels of the temple. 2 Chronicles 36:7 and 2 Kings 24:13, "And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the kings house, and cut to pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD," Walla, no more daily sacrifices.
Malichi wrote 400 years before the birth of Christ. Malachi 1:10, "Neither do you (the temple priests) kindle fire on my altar for naught. I have no pleasure in you, neither will I accept an offering at your hand." But after Jesus was raised, and ascended to the Father. There he presented the only acceptable sacrifice, his blood, a Lamb without spot of blemish.
Who can break this covenant?
Nobody! The Jews have no alternatives, receive it, believe it, or die in their sins.
What are the eternal promises of this covenant?
Eternity with Jesus Christ as his bride.
What is the eternal power and nature of he who has made this covenant?
The eternal power is the "Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the Almighty,' His name is Jesus. Hebrews 1:3, Jesus, he "Upholds all things by the word of his power." All to the glory of his Father.
The new covenant was written and declared in the counsels of the Godhead; declared before the foundations of the earth were laid. Revelation 13:8, "And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."
In conclusion my answer to your third question is a great Hebrew response calculated to stimulate Meditation, Pondering and deeper understanding of the implications of your question....
