How are we to be like God?

If you can only use one word to describe a characteristic of God that we should follow as an example what word would you use?

And why do you choose that word?

There are some who will have God's body type (spirit) but will not be equal to Him, just as the angels are not equal to God.

Every human who believes in Jesus will be born again of the Spirit with spiritual bodies:

John 3:16
King James Version
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The only body type with everlasting life is the spiritual body.

Yes, believers will become equal unto the angels -- not equal to God.
"Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, 'You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith BY my works.' You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to recognize , you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?...Just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead." (James 2:17-26, NASB)

God created man to live forever. His plans have not changed. If we accept Christ and do the will of his Father, we can live forever right here on this beautiful planet. (Matthew 7:21; Psalm 37:9-11,29, NASB)

For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

Did God create the other animals to live forever also?

No. God created all of the animals capable of dying -- including mankind.

Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Hebrews 9:27 was written AFTER Adam fell. Mankind was not purposed to die. He could have lived forever if A&E did not touch the tree (showing that they disregarded God's commands and wanted to call their own shots, so to speak).

One of the lexicon definition of "spiritual" Greek word "pneumatikos" is non-carnal, that is governed by the Spirit of God.(1Cor 15:44)
And "carnal" Greek word "sarkikos" lexicon defined it as governed by mere human nature, prone to sin.(Rom 7:14,15)
I believed born again believers resurrected will not be the same with the angels as spirit but a body governed by the Spirit of God.
That they would still eat the fruit of the tree of life in the Paradise of God.(Rev 2:7)
Do spirits eats?

πνευματικός pneumatikos
Strong Definition
From G4151; non-carnal, that is, (humanly) ethereal (as opposed to gross), or (daemoniacally) a spirit (concretely), or (divinely) supernatural, regenerate, religious: - spiritual.

σαρκικός sarkikos
Thayer Definition:
1) fleshly, carnal
1a) having the nature of flesh, i.e. under the control of the animal appetites
1a1) governed by mere human nature not by the Spirit of God

1Co 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

Nope. The Bible states that believers will be born again of the Spirit. And that those born of the Spirit are spirits:

John 3:6

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

And speaking about believers, Luke writes that believers will become equal unto the angels:

Luke 20:36
Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels;

Humans become spirits by eating from the Tree of Life.

After they become spirits there is no need to eat.

Well, I'll go with the Bible on this one. One of the promises God has made is that in the new system of things, in Paradise, there will be plenty to eat. "There will come to be plenty of grain on the earth. On the top of the mountains there will be an overflow." (Psalm 72:16) "And Jehovah of armies will certainly make for all the peoples, a banquet of well-oiled dishes, a banquet of wine kept on the dregs." (Isaiah 25:6) No one will go hungry because there will be plenty of food for everyone. It doesn't sound like everyone will be spirits. That is the situation of Jesus' co-rulers who will be with him in heaven. Those on the earth will have more than enough to eat.

God said, to him that overcometh will eat of the tree of life,(Rev 2:7)

Rev 2:7  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

And that's how we can be like God. By making ourselves gods. We decide for ourselves that we can run our lives without God, that our ideas are equal or better than God's thoughts.
