Just like Sodom and Gommorrah burned to ashes by real fire, making an example to those who will live ungodly.
2Pe 2:6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

The fire is the cause of death for those cast into it.
If the fire doesn't kill those cast into it, then what kills them?
The second death is an everlasting punishment and total destruction.
The second death is administered by one being cast into a real lake of fire and brimstone.

Re: Does Hell Exist?
Post #309What is "total destruction"? Wouldn't that mean non-existence? The fire is symbolic for the total destruction of an individual. You ask "then what kills them?" God Himself kills them. It doesn't take much for Him to do that, I think you might agree. All He has to do is will it.myth-one.com wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 10:25 pmonewithhim wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 4:57 pmDon't you understand what a symbol is? The fire is real, those cast into the fire are quickly and totally destroyed for all eternity by the fire. They will never live again by their choice.
