Matthew 17 verses 24 - 27.

I would like help understanding the meaning of this about temple tax and how it is applicable to our lives. Does it mean we ought to pay our taxes on earth as asked, further, that God will provide us with the means if we ask for help? Could it also mean Jesus had not got enough money on him?

We never read of Him paying for or owning anything. I wonder if He and the disciples relied on friends and supporters to keep them going.
If so that is so humbling, that the Son of God had so little. Not even a home to call His own.

I do not understand how citizens are free as Jesus states.
