WWJD?

What would Jesus drive?

Is there (or should there) be an environmental concern within Christianity? Why or why not?

While I get the rhetoric of 'my soul is all that matters' that's taught in many churches today, surely there should be some concern with the planet with live on and how we treat it while we're here?
Or no?

Is it a Prius? It's the most popular hybrid so that was only a guess.

I do too! Jesus' followers drove a Honda:

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one Accord in one place.
Clearly, they also practiced car pooling given that they all shared the one Honda Accord. Jesus of course drove a Civic, but his followers needed a car that would hold more than four people so they upgraded to the Accord.

To be clear: Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods.

I must assume that knowing is better than not knowing, venturing than not venturing; and that magic and illusion, however rich, however alluring, ultimately weaken the human spirit.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! This is awesome, Tcg! :D

I think it's a good possibility, though, that Jesus wouldn't really drive anything. I do agree on the Accord, but we, His disciples, would be the drivers, and we would all have these license plates:

Jesus reportedly got around by walking or riding on an a** or donkey.

Mankind was given dominion over every other living physical being, and commanded to replenish the earth.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

So yes, Christians are to be concerned with the environment God provided for mankind.

No other place in the universe has been found where mankind could survive.

And actually, mankind can comfortable survive within only a few miles from the surface of the earth -- the part mankind is in a rush to destroy.

In the first century the donkey was "the poor man's volkswagen" (Honda/Nissan/Toyota/Ford). A cheap, unassuming reliable method of transportation that was neither fast nor glamorous but got you where you needed to go.

A donkey was a practical means of transpiration almost anyone could afford. Even Joseph and Mary had a donkey and they were evdently of modest means. Although Jesus is almost exclusively mentioned as travelling by foot, if he had chosen a means of transport, it would in all likelihood have been this modest, inconsipcious, common but not too attractive beast of burden.

INTERESTING DONKEY FACTS:

1. Donkeys have excellent memory; They are capable of remembering a place they have been to or other donkeys they met 25 years ago!

2. Donkeys are considered to be all-terrain animals and are more adaptable than horses.

3. Donkeys walk at almost the same pace as a human (around 3.5 mph) but galloping can reach speeds of 20 and 30 mph

4. A donkey is capable of hearing another donkey from a distance of 60 miles away.

5. Donkeys are capable of independent thinking and decision making ensuring their safety.

6. When sensing danger they will simply not move ahead, digging in their heels. This behavior has made people wrongly consider them stubborn rather than intelligent.

7. Donkeys have a special and very efficient digestive system that is capable of breaking down and extracting moisture from 95% of what they eat. They can digest almost any kind of vegetation.

8. Donkeys in a herd will groom each other and keep themselves clean.

9. Unlike horses, donkeys are not prone to being startled easily.

10. With proper maintenance and care, a donkey can live for more than 40 years.

Thank you MO for a Biblical answer. To add to this reply I submit Revelation 11:18 which says the day is coming where God will "bring to ruin those ruining the Earth." So should a Christian be concerned with the Earth's status? I know I am after reading the Bible.

I have pride in in my brothers and sisters when they bringing honor to God's name that they keep His creation, the Earth, in mind with construction.
