Maunday Thursday

Post by rstrats »

Does anyone who is familiar with Maundy Thursday, the day during Holy Week which commemorates the washing of the feet and last supper of the Messiah with the apostles know what part of Thursday that this took place - during the night time at the beginning of Thursday, or during the daytime toward the end of Thursday?

With regards to the time that the Father's protection was not with Jesus anymore.
And at what point did that occur? What was the Messiah doing at the time?

He was kissed by Judas and received many kind of dishonor.

But when did that occur - the first half of Thursday or the second half of Thursday?

I'll call it as after sunset of Thursday.

Does that mean the first half of Thursday?

I am confused with that terminology.
Is after sunset of Thursday not acceptable?

No, it's not. After sunset of Thursday is Friday night.

Yes, you said it. That's what I mean.
I think I've already rephrased the three nights and three days based on Biblical reckoning.

OK, we're just going around in circles here. This topic is about one issue and only one issue.

When the term "Maunday Thursday" was originated it was based on a Thursday Lord's Supper and a Friday crucifixion. All this topic is asking is which half of Thursday did the supper take place - during the night time of the first half, or during the daytime of the second half?

Online definition of supper is an evening meal, that makes the answer as during night time of the first half.(term)

sup·per - an evening meal, typically a light or informal one.
