Telling Demons from God

Post by ElCodeMonkey »

If one "spirit" tells you X and another tells you NOT X, how do you know which is right? I imagine, for a lot of people, you'll likely say "well does it jive with the Bible?" Barring the fact that most things can be forced to jive if you want it too, how do we know it wasn't a demon who whispered the idea to take the Bible as God's word to begin with? What if that whole concept was a demon whisper and the God whisper is "ugh, listen to me, not the book!" and we unjustly turn away the God-whisper? Of course, it's just as possible that God is saying to follow the book while a demon says to follow him. So how does one tell them apart? How do you know which is God and which is demon and especially if disagreeing about the book itself? Why default to believing the "follow the book" one without a good reason? Please note, the book cannot give an authoritative answer on this. It could contain useful advice, but not with authority on the matter of determining its own authority. So how do you tell spirits apart?

At least He didn't call us turkeys!!!
My goodness, they really are stupid then, conducting a war on two fronts. For them there's no difference between angel and demon.
Except if the angels win, they will enter heaven. If the demons win, they go to hell forever...and this is common knowledge.
I wonder what mathematical or logical principle drives them into their way of acting.
You also miss the mark about the stupid sheep since they were smart enough to first put their faith in the Christ before they ever sinned so they would come under the promise of election by salvation! But once they chose to sin, aiii yi yi, stupid rules!!!

It was the pride of the Satanic that they were so committed to their faith belief that YHWH was a liar and a false god with no power over life and death or heaven and hell that they saw no need to first accept HIS deity before heading off into their own desires as the sinful elect did. So be it on them....
PCE Theology as I see it...

We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.

This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

It is not that sheep are "people who kneel in subservience", but that they are stupid.
You have fallen for a false stereotype. Perhaps Jesus made the same mistake.

From the article titled, "Sheep are not stupid, and the aren't helpless either".

"Sheep are one of the most unfairly stereotyped animals on the planet. Almost everything we believe about them is wrong"

"Reality: Sheep are actually surprisingly intelligent, with impressive memory and recognition skills. They build friendships, stick up for one another in fights, and feel sad when their friends are sent to slaughter. They are also one of the most destructive creatures on the planet."

So, it could be that the infallible Son of God was mistaken, or else you are misrepresenting his intention when he called his followers sheep.

Of course we aren't limited to these two possibilities. They could both be true.

You answered my questions with questions. So I can't go forward until I know your answers to my questions.

I am unfamiliar with any scripture where Jesus called his disciples stupid, can you provide a reference whwere Jesus said {quote} "my stupid ones" ?

PLEASE NOTE This is not an invitation for me (or any demographic) to be called stupid, it is simply a request for further information. Thank you.

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.- NIV

That is the point. If you read the post marco is replying to, you'd recognize that.

It was ttruscott who introduced this claim. Odd that you didn't question him about it.
