Wish I could tell you only God's Spirit can quicken you. Eph. 2:1-8bernee51 wrote:[

How am I 'all at sea' when it is you who is blinkered by an experience 40 years ago in the Gulf of Tonkin?
Sea. Awesome subject. I will let your superior intellect figure this out.
Call me when you have the right answer.

perhaps god's spirit can quicken you to bring you some understanding of the terms 'spirit' and 'spiritual'.Benoni wrote:Wish I could tell you only God's Spirit can quicken you.bernee51 wrote:[

Seriously, I have asked this of may a christian - most of whom are very quick to throw around such terms and who, in the vast majority, are unable to communicate their understanding without using the documented spiritual experiences of others.
Paul seems to be a popular source.

Truth is a pathless land.
There are hundreds of paths up the mountain, all leading in the same direction, so it doesn't matter which path you take. The only one wasting time is the one who runs around and around the mountain, telling everyone else that their path is wrong.

You apparently have reached out to his level, the spirit level. Please tell us what is God's level.
1. a place in which a person resides; residence; dwelling; habitation; home.
2. an extended stay in a place; sojourn.
Can you write something that makes sense in the context of the question? Or maybe I have misunderstood and you are using 'spirit' in the sense of having a few bourbons while you are typing?

John 14:2
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Many abodes, residence, places. We are talking about the dwelling place for us in God which is not physical geographical location. I like bourbon; but have not had enough to effect my typing.
Mansion abode.
NT:3438
mone (mon-ay'); from NT:3306; a staying, i.e. residence (the act or the place):
KJV - abode, mansion.

This was an entirely serious question...
PS: My apologies to everyone for having contributed to this topic going so far off topic as be ruined.
But each of your replies (here and in other threads) is more bizarre and disconnected from the topic and the post you are answering than the last. What is going on?alsarg72 wrote:You apparently have reached out to his level, the spirit level. Please tell us what is God's level.
So what does where God dwells have to do with reaching God's level in order to understand him?Benoni wrote:He is a spirit and if you want to understand God you will never do so on your level; you need to reach out to God's level.

A good example of this would be Moses who climb the mountain of God an experience God in a high and exalted place; not that the physical realm as anything to do with the spiritual but it is a physical example to perceive which is spiritual. Moses experience with God was on a much higher and more glorious level then the children of Israel. Most see only God’s acts like the Children of Israel which is a long way from God’s ways. Moses need a veil over his face because the glory of God was so glorious they could not look at God’s face.
Psalm 103:7
He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

And I am stil waiting to hear from you what YOU understand 'spiritual' and 'spirit' to mean.
You make a point of telling us who question that we are 'spiritually dead', yet you cannot (or will not) offer anything from your own experience or understanding to 'awaken the dead'.
As I noted earlier, I have asked this of many a christian - most of whom are very quick to throw around such terms and who, in the vast majority, are unable to communicate their understanding without using the documented spiritual experiences of others.
may you be happy, kind, loving and peaceful

I am not debating nor seeking your opinion of these matters. I am asking for a clarification of your understanding to perhaps further my own. I seek to be challenged.Benoni wrote: I see no reason to debate you in such matters or give you my opinion.
If you do not have one, if the source of your understanding is based in the spiritual experiences of others - what is the problem with saying so?
