Exodus 3:2, “The angel of the LORD appeared unto (Moses) in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.” And so, Israel a bush burned with fire, yet not consumed. The chosen people of God, remain the apple of his eye They have been expelled, exposed to misery, persecuted, imprisoned, tortured, and murdered from the time of their captivity in Egypt to this very day, yet Israel lives as a nation. Have you ever asked yourself why, why have the Jews been persecuted so horribly, yet preserved as a people and nation?
God's Plan:
The LORD planned to use a descendant of Noah, from the line of his firstborn son, Shem, to separate a people for himself and create a nation. And through all their corruption, and foolishness, the Jews remain the “apple of God’s eye.” Here is the LORD’s explicit declaration to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, his twelve sons, and all the generations to follow.
Genesis 12:2, “I (the LORD) will make of you a great nation, I will bless you, and make your name great,” The promise of a nation assumes the existence of a national homeland.
Genesis 17:19, “Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed, and you shall call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an EVERLASTING covenant, and with his seed (his descendants) after him.”
Now because they sinned against God, the ten Northern tribes were overrun by the Assyrians in 790 B.C. The Babylonians murdered tens of thousands of Jews, and in 586 B.C., Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the Temple and the city of Jerusalem. Around 465 B.C. the Jews escaped the ruin designed for them by Haman. They would suffer the onslaught of Ptolemy Lagus King of Egypt, the dispersion by Seleucus Nicator, the slaughter by Antiochus Epiphanes, the ravaging by Crassus the Roman General, and by Herod the Great.
After murdering the Lord Jesus, the scepter would temporally depart from Judah. But this was only the beginning of Israel’s calamities.
Deuteronomy 28:29, “And you (Israel) shall grope at noonday, as the blind grope in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways: and you shall be only oppressed and spoiled (be plundered continually) evermore, and no man shall save you.” See Mathew 24.
Matthew 27:25, As the Lord hung from the cross, the people cried out, “Let his blood be on us and our children.” The people put a curse on their own heads and the heads of their children. Thousands would be killed at Cesarea, Damascus, Bethshan, and Alexandria, by Vespasian, and by the Roman Legions led by Titus. In Jerusalem, over a million were killed, and at Masasada a thousand more died by their own hand. Then the Roman Catholics began their persecution of Jews, this followed by the Islamic hordes, the Ottoman, and most recently Adolph Hitler and his Nazi party who took the lives of 6 million. The LORD’s judgments upon the Jews have been terrible, extending to the people, their religion, and the land. Their ceremonies essential to their religion are no longer observed, except by the Orthodox Jews: also, no longer observed is their ritual law, for they remain without a Temple, altar, and sacrifice.
But the LORD has kept his promise, Ezekiel 37:24, “I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and all your idols, will I cleanse you.”
The time of cleansing had arrived: It began on May 14, 1948, when a generation of newborn babies came into the World. God’s promise, “This generation shall not pass away until all these things (Matthew wrote about) are fulfilled.” This generation is now 76 years of age. Israel is at war in the North, South and West. Antisemitism abounds throughout the world, and hatred against them is on the rise. There remains for them one friend, the community of Christians. We must continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
The bush of Moses, surrounded with flames, forever burns, yet it will never be consumed.
Is God done with the Jews?

Re: Is God done with the Jews?
Post #34And why were the Gentiles needed? If the full number required could be filled with Jewish Christians there would be no need for Gentile Christians in that role. As a nation, the Jews --->failed<--- to fulfill the needed number, so in order to have the full number needed of spiritual Israelites, the Gentiles had to be "grafted in" to the original Abrahamic promise.
Spiritual Israel then is made up of Jewish spirit anointed, "born again" Christians and Gentile spirit anointed, "born again" Christians. There is no distinction or superiority between the two groups.
The special exclusively unique relationship a Jew had with God based only on his genealogy was FINISHED. From the death of Christ anyone (Jew or Gentile) that wanted a relationship with God would have to accept Jesus as their Lord and savior.

How in the world can you say that? The following prophecies Jehovah made to Israel have yet to be fulfilled. The only way they could be fulfilled is through the Son, Christ Jesus. Read these prophecies carefully. To deny them is to say Jehovah cannot keep his promises.
Deuteronomy was written 3500 years ago:
Deuteronomy 30:4-5, "If any of thine (the Jews) be driven out (from the land)... from there will the LORD thy God gather thee (the Jews), and from thence will He fetch them: And the LORD thy God will bring thee (the Jews) into the land which thy fathers possessed = (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob), and they (the 12 tribes) shalt possess it; and He (the LORD) will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers."
Ezekiel 37:21-28, "Thus saith the LORD God; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen (Gentile nations) whither they are gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: (May 14, 1948) I will make them (12 Tribes) one nation --- they all shall have one shepherd (Jesus), they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, -----I = (the LORD) will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant --- And the nations shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore."
On May 14, 1948, in one day as prophesied, the 2 tribes were being drawn from the Gentile nations of the world back to their homeland for the first time in 1900 years, as promised. They have come from most every nation on earth, drawn back by Jehovah himself. This Generation of Jews is 77 years old, 3 years short of one generation as prophesied by Matthew in 24:34, "This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."
Isaiah 10:22, “For though your (Isaiah’s) people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return:” This prophecy is being fulfilled today.
Ezekiel writes about the valley of dry bones (spiritually dead Israel) being brought back to life.
Ezekiel also speaks of two sticks, the 10 Northern tribes, and the two Southern tribes. Ezekiel 37:17, the two sticks brought together in the end times represent the 12 tribes, Verse 17, they "Will be joined together as "one stick; and they shall become on in thin hand. With, verse 19,
"Thus said the Lord God; behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel (10 Northern tribes) his companions and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah (two Southern tribes) and make them one stick (one nation) and they shall be one in mine hand.
So your statement, "modern day State of Israel does not have divine backing," is incorrect, and hold truth.

The following prophecies Jehovah made to Israel have yet to be fulfilled.
JEHOVAH'S WITNESS
Please read with an open mind: I will underscore what has yet to be fulfilled.
Israel will have one shepherd.
They will walk in God's judgments (still future)
they will observe God's statutes (still future)
God will make a covenant of peace with Israel. Daniel tells us it will take 7 years to confirm this new covenant, only 3 1/2 years have been confirmed, and 3 1/2 remain. (Still future.)
God's sanctuary will be in the midst of the, FOR EVERMORE. (Still future.)

You apparently haven't bothered to read the posts that JW and I have written on this thread. We outlined why the nation of Israel as a whole is no longer God's chosen people, yet you obviously don't agree with Jesus, Paul, or Peter. (Matthew 21:43; Matthew 23:37,38; Galatians 3:26-29; Galatians 6:14-16; I Peter 2:9,10)

So your statement, "modern day State of Israel does not have divine backing," is incorrect, and holds truth.

I did, but I believe your understanding of Matthew 23 and the other verses you mention are incorrect. In Matthew 23:37, Jesus was speaking to the religious leaders who rejected Jesus. Jesus was saying the kingdom was being taken from Israel at that time, but it would be given back to them in the future, as prophesied in Amos, Isaiah, Ezekiel, etc. Here's my counter to Mathew 23.
Romans 11:15-17, Read carefully: "If the casting away of them (the Jews) be the reconciling of the world (Gentiles), what shall the receiving of them (the Jews) be, but life from the dead? For if the firstfruit (the Jews) be holy, the lump (all believers, Jew and Gentile) is also holy: and if the root (the Jews) be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken off (Jews who reject Jesus) and thou (the Gentiles), being a wild olive tree, were GRAFFED IN AMONG THEM (THE JEWS) , and with them (the Jews) partakes of the root and fatness of the olive tree;"
Verses 20-21, "Because of unbelief (not all Jews) they (certain branches) were broken off, and thou (the Gentiles) stand by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear: for if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not you.
Verse 23, And they (the Jews) also, if they abide NOT still in unbelief, shall BE GRAFTED IN: FOR GOD IS ABLE TO GRAFT THEM (the Jews) IN AGAIN." Old Testament prophesies fulfilled.

The modern day State of Israel does not have divine backing and will be destroyed at Armageddon along with all the other political States of this world. That said , INDIVIDUALS from any national group (including the natural/biological descendants of Abraham) can come into divine favor if they accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and worship the True God Jehovah.

I see where you could believe that, but I believe that the Jews/Israel refers to spiritual Israel, as Paul mentioned in many places before he wrote Ephesians. "There is neither Jew nor Greek...for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:28, KJV) Being a Jew was no longer important in the scheme of things. All you had to be was a believer in and follower of Christ. "For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love." (Galatians 5:6, KJV) "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God." (Galatians 6:15,16, KJV) Paul is not speaking about fleshly Israel. He is speaking about spiritual Israel that is made up of those that believe in Christ, whether Jews or Gentiles. "Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham." (Galatians 3:7, KJV) See also Galatians 4:22-26 where Paul says that it is "Jerusalem above that is our mother." No longer earthly Jerusalem.
