You can know the thoughts of God on any matter b/c He transmits it to us mentally.
So god is a voice in your head?

No it is not choice..it is a conclusion. I can only conclude from the evidence that god does not exist and that the Jesus of the gospels is a myth.
topaz wrote: Reality is fact. Fact is immutable, cannot be changed. You can choose to believe what you want but you cannot change the factual truth about the existence of God vs satan and the trinity.
So you believe in god, satan, heaven hell. And what you believe is fact because....?

This we agree on.

If we study Adam, we will notice that at creation, Adam did not sin. He obeyed God. On his own, Adam did not generate thoughts of disobedience. This came from the serpent / satan. All thoughts originate from either God or satan. So if you think you’re generating your own thoughts separate from God or satan, then you’re deluding yourself.

We all bear the consequences of our decisions. I see that you have made a choice not to believe. So be it. God is everywhere. He need not be ‘proven’. We are nothing that God should prove anything to.

B/c unlike you, I follow Christ and the mystery is revealed to those like me. The bible is the inerrant Word of God, 100% true [kjv, niv]. The Holy Bible is the only spiritual book that is truly ‘holy’ b/c its prophecies are fulfilled, its teachings carry the truth. Those who follow Christ bear witness to this truth which remains a mystery to those in unbelief.

So when I am thinking about what i might have for dinner it is a battle between satan and god?

You are obviously not reading what I have posted. I did not choose not to believe. I have no alternative but to not believe. There is no reason to believe. There is no need for your god to exist.

You have not answered my question...WHY is it fact rather than something you BELIEVE to be fact.

If the bible is inerrant it contains no mistakes, contradictions or impossibilities. If just one exists then it is not inerrant.

True?

So if I can show one prophecy that was not fulfilled it means it is an untruth. Is that correct?

What of those who used to believe? This "mystery" must have revealed itself to them, but they chose to not believe it.

As for the original question, Does god choose us, or do we choose god. What does it really mean to choose god? What other options are there? What does it mean that god chooses us? What other options are there?

Regarding food : ‘a battle’ … lol

A fact is immutable, unchangeable. God is a fact. So is Jeus Christ. The earth is round, this is a fact. It is good to discuss with someone whose mind is opened. But you seem to have your answers all ready irregardless whether they’re the truth. So be it.

I am not interested to get into a never-ending argument with you. You make senseless statements, at least to me they’re senseless. Bye.

I may be wrong, but I don’t think anyone would choose to disbelieve truth. IMO, apostates expect God to bend the rules for them and since they don’t get things their way, they walk out. To me, they know God and Christ are the truth but they put their will above the truth as if God must bend backwards to accommodate them and they, not God, dictate the rules. As they walk further and further from God, the mind gets darker and darker and eventually, truth doesn’t matter anymore b/c it is lost in that darkness. They lose touch of reality ie. truth and grope in the dark for other philosophies that seemingly holds the truth. Fact remains, they will receive no help but their lives is a downward hill.

I shared my thoughts on this thread. I believe we choose God. You can read me in this thread, earlier post.

quote="methylatedghosts"]
What does it really mean to choose god? What other options are there? What does it mean that god chooses us? What other options are there?
Whether we believe we choose God or the other way round, the good thing is we’re on His side.

What other options? God or satan, only 2 options available, God says in His Word. To me, it is all about free will choice. Like others, I can choose to walk away, but why should I knowing that the other option would be satan? I oppose satan and everything he stands for. I choose to be faithful to my beloved Father and His Christ. I truly love God when I compare Him with satan. It drives me closer to God. Beauty and the beast, God is beauty while the beast is that ugly devil.

Who puts it into your mind to eat food that nourishes your body? Satan? I am not surprised that you require such simple explanation. A mind that turns from God is a dark mind, indeed. A mind devoid of u/standing the deep things.

What I believe is fact b/c it simply is factual. You argue against this truth b/c you’re blind. Why argue with a blind man about things he cannot see? Don’t you think the blind ought to learn from those with sight?

In the first place, you’ve proven to me that you’re blind. Now, you desire to argue against the inerrancy of scripture as if you understand its precepts in the first place. You are like an illiterate attempting to argue with a literate. Oh please … I don’t have time for this. I would love to argue with someone who knows what he’s talking.

There are prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled. You are so muddled up in your head so please don’t try to act smart.

Hi Bernee, do I detect a note of frustration with Topaz? I know, get into the Lotus position and Ammmmmmmmmmm, you'll feel better in the morning.

It was you who claimed all our thought are gods or satans. I was merely reducing it to the ridiculous claim that it is.
Tell me - do you have any undestanding of vedanta philosophy? If not - stop calling the kettle black.
topaz wrote: If you stll cannot see when it is daylight, how terrible when it is dark and you grope.
You claim to be "in the daylight" but are unable to explain why.
topaz wrote: What I believe is fact b/c it simply is factual.
Circular argument. You'll have to do better than that. Like saying the bible is the word of god because the bible says it is the word of god.
topaz wrote: Don’t you think the blind ought to learn from those with sight?
I do indeed. Can you take your own advice.
topaz wrote: You are like an illiterate attempting to argue with a literate.
Ad hominems win you no converts.

More ad homs.
topaz wrote: You are so muddled up in your head so please don’t try to act smart.

Can't you at least try to be more 'christian'

No frustration on my part Biker. I have spent too many years 'discussing' these issues with the likes of Topaz to get frustrated by it. In fact I find it highly amusing and somewhat saddening at the same time.

BTW - everyone can benefit from meditation. Christ did.
