Is the Lord's Sabbath in the OT still for God's people in the NT?

Luk 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment

The OP is only asking: "Is the Lord's Sabbath in the OT still for God's people in the NT?". Any discussion of issues outside of that should be addressed in a new topic.
Yes, Sabbath still for God's people in the NT. A weekly Sabbath in memorial to creation, a 24hour a day interpretation.

Heb 4:9 There remains, therefore, a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
Or as the “The Holy Bible from the Ancient Eastern Text.” has it: “It is therefore the duty of the people of God to keep the Sabbath.”
Yes, Greek "sabbatismos" in Heb 4:9 means "a Sabbath keeping" for the people of God.

σαββατισμός sabbatismos
Thayer Definition:
1) a keeping sabbath
2) the blessed rest from toils and troubles looked for in the age to come by the true worshippers of God and true Christians.
For as even in new heaven and new earth, all flesh come to worship the LORD.

Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD
As it is the Sabbath of our Lord God, and it is in memorial to creation.

Exo 20:10  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God:
Exo 20:11  For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

ONEWITHHIM RESPONDS:
There is no scriptural evidence that Christians in Jesus' day, after his death and resurrection, observed the Sabbath. Can you present some? Perhaps I missed that evidence.

When Jesus fulfilled the Mosaic Law, Christians were not obligated to follow that set of laws. "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us [the Law], which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross." (Colossians 2:14, KJV) Brackets mine.

"In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old [obsolete]. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away." (Hebrews 8:13, KJV)
[/quote]

Lexicon define "rest" Greek "Sabbatismos" in Heb 4:9, as keeping the Sabbath.
That is for those who consider themselves as people of God.

Col 2:14 mentioned about the handwriting of ordinances, while the commandments was fingerwritten by God.

Heb 8:10-13 mentioned about the placement of God's laws, from the tablets of stone to the tablets of heart.(2 Cor 3:3)
Still God commune to His people, at that time it was the house of Israel.
But today that verse God commune to those who consider themselves as people of God.(Heb 8:10)
Because I believe God gives guidance/instructions or commune to His people that listens.

Heb 4:9 There remains, therefore, a Sabbath rest for the people of God,
Heb 4:10 because the one who enters God's rest has himself rested from his own actions, just as God did from his
Heb 4:4 Somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day as follows: "On the seventh day God rested from all his actions,"

Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

ONEWITHHIM:
You confirmed what I'm saying. The Christian congregation, God's people, have His laws written in their hearts---"fleshly tablets of the heart." No longer are they under the Law which was written by the hand of God on stone tablets.

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Who is "the LORD" thy God? It is Jehovah, that is brought out at Psalm 83:18 in the King James Bible. It is important that we realize that. He is the Father that Jesus prayed to. If we love Him (and our neighbor) we will be keeping the Law, which is in our hearts, not on stone or paper and ink.

Is not keeping the Sabbath for the people of God obedience to you? (Heb 4:9)
To begin with everyone on earth belongs to God.
Therefore everyone is His people.

And why does it matter to you if anyone does not keep the Sabbath?

And if the Holy Ghost commanded me to keep the Sabbath then
of course doing it would be obedience.
