When I learned that the Bible speaks of a restored Garden of Eden and the restoration of mankind to the perfection and endless life that Adam forfeited, I was thrilled. Who doesn't want to keep living on this beautiful earth, with our loved ones, and being able to do all the things we love to do---endlessly?
If God said to you today, "When do you want to die?" would you say "now!!"? I don't think very many people would say that.
We CAN live forever here on Earth. The Bible tells us that we can.

Good, humble people who will get the land God promised and live on it forever must be born again of the Spirit as spiritual bodied beings which live forever!
If they are given the land as humans, they will die on it within about 120 years.

Exactly! Knowing that people would never live forever, God's promise was a hollow one.
Got a nice contradiction going on here, but that's okay.Good, humble people who will get the land God promised and live on it forever must be born again of the Spirit as spiritual bodied beings which live forever!
If they are given the land as humans, they will die on it within about 120 years.
Have a good day.

<==================================>
The Bible defines two types of bodies -- natural and spiritual. Likewise, there are two type of worlds -- natural and spiritual. Man is a natural bodied being living in the natural physical world.
One characteristic of natural bodies is that all are temporary. Only spiritual bodied beings live forever.
Thus individual human beings cannot live anywhere forever with their current type of body.
The only restraining characteristic which prevents humans from living forever is body type. Man is a natural bodied being because he is born of natural bodied beings. That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
So the one change human beings need to make to gain everlasting life is a change in body type.
Thus, to gain everlasting life and live forever anywhere, a man or woman must be born of the Spirit as a spiritual bodied being. Since humans have already been born once as natural bodied beings, we must be born again of the Spirit as spiritual bodied beings to live forever.
The type of being is what changes, everything else remains the same.

God simply can't find anyone worthy of his promise? Boy, if I was an all knowing god I'd certainly make sure such people would be around before creating such a land (wherever he put it) and promising it to folk.
Another one of god's mistakes perhaps? Or maybe he withdrew his promise without telling anyone. Possible?

"Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9) "One day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day." (verse 8)
The "land" is this beautiful earth that we live on now. The promise will be fulfilled in his due time, and, according to Bible chronology, it will be soon. (Go to www.jw.org and type in the search box "last days.")

Post #2646There are millions if not billions of humble people that will live in Paradise on this earth. People that are physical, just like us. It will be only the wicked who are to be destroyed. "Only the upright will reside in the earth, and the blameless will remain in it. As for the wicked, they will be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous will be torn away from it." It looks to me like Jehovah has promised the earth to physical people who are "upright" and "blameless." Yes, "as for the heavens, they belong to Jehovah, but the earth he has given to the sons of men." (Psalm 115:16).
Show me where it says that men will die within 120 years.

Re: Paradise on Earth
Post #2648Well, that may be nice for god who has all the time in the world, but the people whom he tells "10 In a short time there will be no more evil people. You can look for them all you want, but they will be gone," pretty much implies that this promised land is just around the corner. At least within a generation or so, not in 120 generations. If someone told you X would happen in 3,000 years would you consider that to be in a short time? My bet is, "No," you would not.onewithhim wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 3:42 pmYou are right in saying that the land hasn't been given to the righteous ones yet. Nice, but he's already established the qualification: One must be Humble in order to receive the Promised Land. Implying that those who are not humble will never be admitted."Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9).
Yeah, ain't it.The "land" is this beautiful earth that we live on now.

Sorry, but god has already blown his "In a short time" promise. Three thousand years is not a "short time."The promise will be fulfilled in his due time, and, according to Bible chronology, it will be soon.
