Could it be that Jesus-worshiping Christians are worshiping an innocent man who never asked for any of this?
If not, what makes you so certain that Jesus-worship is not a violation of the First Commandment?

Could it be, that Jesus-worshiping Christians
Post #1 My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

Post #21If all you are doing is repeating my claim, and back TO me, that does not advance the debate. Why are you doing that? What game are you playing? Seems to me that is not debating in good faith.Tcg wrote:I just stated quite clearly that I repeated your claim. You seem to be the one disputing it all of a sudden. Why is that?Elijah John wrote:No, I am asking if you are disputing my assertion that Jesus empolyed hyperbole in his rhetoric. You seem to be disputing that.Tcg wrote:You claimed he did. Or this could simply be another excuse to pretend Jesus didn't say what Jesus really said. Odd that believers never question the meaning of verses were Jesus used the word, "love".
Maybe when he used the word, "love", he really meant hate only slightly less. Apparently he used hyperbole quite a bit, or so the claim goes.
Are you suggesting that your claim is flawed and I shouldn't trust it?

Post #22Miseo, is not regarded as the same as the English hate as far as I can tell. I wanted your opinion as you seem versed in this.Tcg wrote:Please explain the relevance of this request to my post. I see none.brianbbs67 wrote:You have the knowledge, I have the curiosity. I believe the Greek on that was actually "Love less". I am not an expert.
The experts involved in the following translations: NIV, NASB, KJV, ESV, NLT, RSV, YLT, and WYC, all used the word "hate" when translating this verse. It'd take more argumentation than "I believe" to consider them all flawed.

See the other meanings? There is not one. And if there was, it would defy the decalogue.

Post #23With regards to Luke 14:26 and it's translation, one just wonders why if it's "actually Love Less", that pretty much ALL Bible English translations say Hate, instead of Love Less?brianbbs67 wrote: [Replying to post 5 by Divine Insight]
I believe the Greek on that was actually "Love less". I am not an expert. But, it seems the Greeks had at least 8 words for everything. I guess they were trying to be specific. Who knows?

Post #24As far as you can tell? How is that any more acceptable than your earlier claim which was built on, "I believe"?
I already revealed that 8 well respected versions translate the word as "hate". Care to address why your, "as far as I can tell" or your, "I believe" should be considered as more authoritative?
I wanted your opinion as you seem versed in this.
