What do JWs know?

Post by 2ndpillar2 »

I just had two JWs come to my house. They said that they do not believe in the Trinity, yet they were quoting from a bible whose canon was produced by Athanasius in 367 A.D., the same guy who was the main proponent of the Trinity doctrine at Constantine's Council of Nicaea. They apparently did not know that Athanasius produced the canon they used, and that he proposed doctrine which is opposite of what they believe. Is this a one off, or is lack of historical context part of the JWs normal routine? They gave their quote of the day, Rev 21:4, without context, and didn't know that Rev 22:15 applied to the same Jerusalem, and that those "who practice lying" would not "enter". As soon as I told them, they turned and walked quickly away. The second time in around so many weeks, that JWs came, and quickly walked away when confronted with their inconsistencies.

REVELATION 1:1

A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him ...
Who gave Jesus the Revelations?

JEHOVAH'S WITNESS
The Apostle John wrote as God inspired him to record The Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
Your answer isnt clear yo me...Can you see the scripture from the bible in green? Can you name the one individual that gave the revelation to Jesus?
The Bible says this:

Revelation 1:8
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 1:17-18
King James Version
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Perhaps it might suit you for me to say God the Father gave God the Son the revelation in a similar way that God the Father said unto God the Son "sit on my right hand until I make your enemies my footstool."

Matthew 22:44
The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

Is the expression "God the Son " in the scripture? Who does the scripture say was given the Revelation?

God the Father gave God the Son the Revelation, just as God the Father gave God the Son the glory that God the Father never shares with anyone buit God.

Isaiah 42:8
I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

John 17:5
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

To all respondents,

It should be remembered that Jesus the Christ has always set the perfect example of one who was implicitly obedient to His Father.. He came not to do his will, but the will of the father.

The trinity is not a doctrine of the Bible. This doctrine was a "man made" doctrine made without revelation or authorization.

The Godhead is a doctrine of the Bible. The Godhead consists of God the Father, his only begotten son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.

In revelation 1:1-2 it is very clear that this was delivered to John, who had "the testimony of Jesus" which is the spirit of prophesy or revelation. The scriptures make it very clear that unless one has the spirit of prophecy which is the spirit of revelation, one does not have the testimony of Jesus.

The JW's have not the testimony of Jesus because they do not accept revelation. Thus their concept of the true nature and character of he whom they claim to worship is simply a god who they do not know who has no body of flesh and bone, but is one whom they have made by their deductive man made reasoning.

I don't believe the order of the wording "God the Son" is found in the KJV Bible, but what isw found in the Bible is Jesus dwelling with God the Father since at least the beginning of time.

John 17:5
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

The words "The Son of God" are found in the Bible but the words "the Son of God is not God" are not found.
