Excellent my friend.
Few seem to realize that indeed the Sabbath was instituted during the end of the creation period.Infact the Sabbath is actually a separate covenant, and ofcourse the fourth in the written(God the Father's) version of the commandments.

Simply forgive sins and stand for your neighbor to be saved
Post #12The bible also says different.DansingWall wrote:The bible appears to say yes. Whats your thoughts
None will find heaven by idolatry of Law; not even by ten commandments.
If you wish to inherit eternal life, simply love your neighbor as yourself. If you wish find heaven, stand to secure peace of all neighbors. Especially stand against those that would usurp god's name and judge or condemn sin as crime.

You need to read the whole passage:DansingWall wrote:Hi MuzMuz wrote: If you read in Acts 15, there is a debate over whether Gentiles had to obey the Law, and the conclusion is that they do not.
Muz
ACTS 15 [17] That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. [18] Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. [19] Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among THE GENTILES are turned to God: [20] But that we write unto them, that THEY ABSTAIN FROM POLLUTIONS OF IDOLS, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. [21] For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
Well ? I looked into acts and In the context of the full scripture, it was speaking as to whether gentiles needed to be circumcized. Nothing to do with the 10 commandments or the sabbath. I also found another new testament scripture about the gentiles, idols, blood, etc. and that scripture also was talking about circumcision. That being said,I decided to also look into what idols were all about. What I found was quite interesting.
Act 15:5 Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, "The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to obey the law of Moses."
The Pharisees made it about obeying the law of Moses, as well, and they were rebuffed by Peter: Acts 15:10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear? 11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."
And James agrees. The context clearly places the requirements of the Old Covenant outside of Christianity.Muz

Love one another. How are we to do that? Does the new testament tell us how we are to actually show this love for one another? Yes. All the NEW TESTAMENT scriptures below tell us how we are to love one another (our neighbor). And there all quite clear! Keep the 10 commandments and you will be walking in the “love your neighbor” mentioned in the new testament.
1JOHN 5 [2] By this WE KNOW THAT WE LOVE THE CHILDREN OF GOD, when we love God, and keep his commandments. [3] For THIS IS THE LOVE OF GOD, THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: and his commandments are not grievous.
2JOHN1 [5] And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that WE LOVE ONE ANOTHER.[6] And THIS IS LOVE, THAT WE WALK AFTER HIS COMMANDMENTS. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
JAMES 2 [8] If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF, ye do well: [9] But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.[10] For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.[11] For he that said, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, said also, DO NOT KILL. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
ROMANS 13 [8] Owe no man any thing, but to LOVE ONE ANOTHER: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.[9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, THOU SHALT NOT STEAL, Thou shalt not bear false witness, THOU SHALT NOT COVET; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.[10] Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
I decided to show the scripture of James 2 and Romans 13 which explain to us how we are to show our love for one another because there will be some out there that will try and tell you the “commandments” mentioned are not the 10 commandments. But as you can see in these scriptures, adultry killing, stealing, bearing false witness, covetness are mentioned. There will also be some out there that will tell you since the “keeping of the sabbath” is not mentioned or “thou shalt have no other gods before me”is not mentioned these commandments can be ignored. We should know better than that
You might, others are already forgiven.
I admit and will even confess that you know well your Holy Words.
Yet still I wonder in the spirit. You and I and we are all equal sinners. For even random thought of sin is same as ten commandment sin. As you judge and condemn sins, yours are in measure judged and condemned. Yet even as you forgive sins, yours are also forgiven.
How do you show love of god and neighbor?
Forgive all sins.
Seek to secure peace for your neighbors (all); no matter even their sins.
The spirit is reborn in the flesh.

Sabbath Day
Post #16Here's some facts from the Bible about the Ten Commandments (and the Sabbath specifically).
God wrote the Ten Commandments with His own finger.
The Sabbath is the only commandment that starts with the word REMEMBER.
The Sabbath was established as a Holy day even before Moses during the time of Adam when God created Earth.
All over the Bible the Sabbath is a "SIGN" between God and His people.
Jesus came not to change the laws but to fulfill them.
Now, people that do not want to accept the Sabbath will often start talking about "new laws" and the "new covenant". If you research this "new covenant" enough you will realize it's more about the Tabernacle (read Hebrews) than anything else.
Thus, people will mix the Ten Commandments of God with the Tabernacle laws and say that God gave "new laws". More specifically they will often mention that God said to "love your God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself".
This is an exact summary of the Ten Commandments. The first four commandments are in reference to our direct relationship with God- the last six to our neighbors.
Once again, notice how it is written- REMEMBER the Sabbath day.

Furthermore, God did write these words. However, they were the opening to a covenant established with Israel, that includes many sacrifices, civil and ritual laws that the church does not follow. On what basis do you grab one part of a covenant and say that it applies to you, and then ignore the rest of the covenant?

1John 2:4
To me now I see it as a major issue for God. He demanded the death penalty for anyone breaking it. eg he demanded the stoning of a man for picking up sticks on the Sabbath.
He chose to put it in the 10 commandments, yet deemed it unncessary to include many other important issues ,eg, thou shalt not make a slave out of another human being, thou shalt not rape, thou shalt not take the law into thine own hands, etc etc etc. This speaks volumes as to how important it was to God. Hell, he even set the standard himself when he created the world, yet we know, he didn't really need to do it!
Christians believe that God is the same always. But yet if the New Testament is to be believed, God did a total about-face on the issue of keeping the sabbath. It became something that was no longer important. To me now, (no longer wearing the rose coloured Christian sunglasses) this seems to me to be rather unbelievable and it seems that God does change. Seems the bible was wrong about that.
Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.
Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.
There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.

Post #19There is appx 613 underlying laws to the decalogue covering many many issues. Take a stroll through Leviticus. Plus God anointed the Levites to perform as Judge in support of the law... so there were constraints built-in to prevent people from taking the law into their own hand. You will see it was important to God. And the core of the Torah is respect to others.OnceConvinced wrote: To me now I see it as a major issue for God.
