Healthcare Reform

Post by Kuan »

Since the new health care reform bill was passed, are we doing the right thing? Does this new bill take us in the right direction or the wrong direction? I have very little knowledge of this and I want to hear all sides so I can start to develop and gain knowledge of the issue. One thing that I know we need for sure is tort reform but why are so many scared to tackle it? Also why would socialized be better than a capitalized system?

Its a special interest website with no citations for its statistics. I cant adress anything I cant (and for good reason) trust.
Is this source better?
Economic Benefits of Tort Reform
Better, but look at the bib. Its all from special interest groups and its put together by politicians. Would you trust something that came from a politicians desk?

What I posted above is actual peer-reviewed science.

If we put the politician in office they better be somewhat trustworthy. (alothough they are not.)

Which unfortunately, more often than not, they are not.

Well, that is the claims for a politician that is catering to special interests. If you notice the articles that are being quoted are almost exclusively from the insurance industry, and people that are specifically pushing for tort reform.
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Well, im trying to argue for reform here, im not gonna post something contradictory here.

Either way tort reform needs to be addressed but is it a large enough issue to be addressed?
