Is it logical to support Israel?

Post by AdHoc »

Many christians support Israel perhaps because of the shared biblical history but in general, more and more non-christians today seem to see Israel in a negative light and want to withdraw support from that country.

Is it logical to support Israel as a secular free democracy in a part of the world where that isn't common?

Or is it more logical to not support Israel?

I would especially like to hear the reasons why some christians support Israel and why some non-theists don't support Israel.

What position then should Christians take toward Israel today?

Oppose it? Reject it? Ignore it? Or something else, do you think?

Monta supplied the proper answer: ''Treat Israel as you would any other country.''

Furthermore, right wing television evangelists who promulgate the notion of "Christian evangelism" need to be instructed that this teaching has no biblical foundation and is antithetical to the Bible's true teachings.

What are you referring to in your "this teaching" statement?

"I'm an Israeli Jew! I'll always be an Israeli Jew as long as they're under threat of their very existence! "

Oh what a burden!
Here in the South, we sometimes exaggerate to prove a point. I'm all for the right of Israel to exist, and for the Jews to live amongst themselves, in their lands.

The Palestinians were offered free passage back into Israel, but were convinced by surrounding Arab states that Isreal was fixin' to get it a whoopin' of biblical proportions. Only it was the Israelis a-handin' out biblical proportion whoopin's. Since that time Israel has repeatedly offered land for peace, only to be rebuffed.

Beg your pardon, meant to say "Christian Zionism" as taught by right wing Christian television evangelists. Indeed, there is no biblical basis for that erroneous concept. Thank you for allowing me to clarify.

Under the Jewish law?

You know that non-Jews are second and third class citizens in Israel?

Palestinians are now living on their land and they don't want to be occupied.

Please support the claims that 'Non-Jews are second and third class citizens in Israel'.

Here is a list of Arab members of the Knesset. Could you provide a similar list of Jews in the Palestinian government?

So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Those who believe in Christian Zionism think they do have a sound biblical basis for it.

Perhaps you can explain why you think it is an erroneous concept.

They don't need to be in the 'government'.

With their guns and tanks they own the streets and the right to
smash through any house in the middle of the night.

But Palestinians do the same in Israel, do they not?

I think you have it backward Joey...

Palestine hasn't been allowed arms, and this is the result.

It will be gone soon. The greatest genocide no one protests.

Are you aware that Palestine has 1000x incidence of horrible horrible birth defects from those moms exposed to Israeli bombs?

https://www.google.com/search?q=palesti ... IQ_AUIBigB

Take a gander, if you want to be disgusted.

It from a chemical called pheynl pyradine, which you won't find on-line. Only in hard copies of the Journal of Birth Defects and a Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, I only know by coincidence of having read both at about the same time.

Very sad things to do in the name of an imaginary God, so one mongrel group of people can displace folks who are, genetically, more "Jewish," than they are. Whatever that means.
