I was raised as an evangelical. I WAS an evangelical. It is clear that Trump is not an authentic evangelical; he knows next to nothing about the Bible and has lived and continues to live and promote a lifestyle that is antithetical to evangelical Christianity.
Yet he is doing very well, better than any other Republican candidate, among evangelicals.
My conclusion is that evangelicals care much more about secular politics than about true Christian values. Has Trump support among 'evangelicals' exposed the fact the 'evangelical voting block' is not based on Christian values, but on secular political values?
Donald Trump has exposed 'evangelical' voters

The only possible justification is to vote against Hillary.
But it is not worth compromising -- or is it sacrificing? -- one's honor, principles, and integrity (not to mention plain ol' "class") for a man who has none of those qualities.
Hillary will be a disaster.
Trumpf will be a different kind of disaster.
There is no viable choice in this election, as this time. But a major surprise of some kind would not surprise me.
In the end, we get the leadership we deserve.
And that's a terrible thing.
And this is coming from someone who's as Evangelical as they come.
Here's a thought.
Federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel continued his job of battling the drug cartels even under death threats! His family had to have government protection for over a year.
Now there's an example of honor, principle, integrity, class, and country!
Let's elect him President!
It should even please the Clown -- as another judge would have to preside over the Clown University lawsuit!
Everybody Wins!
It will be incredible!

Why not?
This country is already deeply through the looking glass. There is no passing back through. It is only a matter of going through more looking glasses, into ever more bizzarro dimensions.
A hypothetical:
Let's say a nation of 300 million people holds an election.
And let's say 80% of the votes cast in that election are for people of the caliber of, oh, let's say... let's go really bottom of the barrel here -- how about a lifelong corrupt politician like Hillary Clinton? And a whacko old socialist -- maybe Bernie Sanders? (anybody ever heard of him?). And, just to make it funny... a really absurd goofball -- say, donal trumpf?
What would that tell you about the health of that nation -- politically, societally, culturally?

End of times?
Can anybody get 666 out of any combination of donal trumpf or Hillary Clinton?
I'm not good at Roman math.

Since that's a question, I'll answer --myth-one.com wrote:I dunno.Volbrigade wrote:What would that tell you about the health of that nation -- politically, societally, culturally?
End of times?
I think we're a ways away from the end of time.
I submit that then end of America is at hand; in fact, has already occurred. My tongue-in-cheek "hypothetical' and "looking glass" remarks were intended to illustrate that fact.
From now until this space-time continuum comes to an end, things should get pretty... "interesting", I suppose.
.Can anybody get 666 out of any combination of donal trumpf or Hillary Clinton?

I'm sure you can get "666" out of most anything, if you try hard enough. "If you torture the data long enough, it will confess to anything."
Fwiw -- when (a) "Man" ("6") presents himself as God (the Trinity -- Father, Son, Holy Spirit) -- i.e., "6, 6, 6" --
I think you'll know it.
Then again -- maybe not.

Re: Donald Trump has exposed 'evangelical' voters
Post #155This is further evidenced in the person that was Trump's primary opponent, Ted Cruz. He spoke often about his "evangelical" values and faith but nothing in his actions and most of the thins he said are contrary to the teachings of Jesus and the Christian faith. But many people, good people, did not take the time to think through what he has said and what he has done. He said the right buzz words and they followed.Danmark wrote: My conclusion is that evangelicals care much more about secular politics than about true Christian values. Has Trump support among 'evangelicals' exposed the fact the 'evangelical voting block' is not based on Christian values, but on secular political values?
This is a catastrophic result heading to towards November with Trump and HRC the two left standing.

That Ted Cruz paraded his claimed Christianity like a Pharisee while alienating even his own family members and fellow Republicans to the extent his own mother rolled her eyes while he lied and contradicted him; that Boehner called him “Lucifer in the flesh, ...
“I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life, Boehner added. He said he would not vote for Cruz in a general election, though he would vote for his fellow tangerine-tinted Republican Donald Trump.
It’s not news that Boehner doesn’t like Cruz, whom he has previously called a “jackass and a “false prophet....

But certainly not to mine.
I didn't ask Boehner's opinion of Ted. Nor his religious affiliation.
Untraveled stated that Cruz "spoke often about his 'evangelical' values and faith but nothing in his actions and most of the thins he said are contrary to the teachings of Jesus and the Christian faith."
My understanding, though the sentence is badly garbled ("Nothing in his actions....are contrary to the teachings of Jesus and the Christian faith"? I think he meant "nothing... is consistent with...". If I have it wrong, then just disregard my post), is that Ted's actions and words are contrary to Christ's teachings and "the Christian faith".
I'd like to see some examples of that.
Otherwise, it is just a specious, groundless accusation.

1st, you did not ask a question. You made a statement, based on this quote:
"This is a catastrophic result heading to towards November with Trump and HRC the two left standing."
I answered your your statement with powerful evidence that TRump and HRC ARE the 'two left standing' AND answered your challenge about Cruz with facts. Watch the out takes of Cruz's failed movie about himself and you see a slimy politician who is not even liked by his own family or his fellow Christians who have worked most closely with him. John Boehner is not just some guy off the street. Please provide examples to support that statement.
