Exodus a leading ex-gay ministry closed its doors and issued an apology for the harm it has caused to the gay community.
Does this influence the way you view homosexuality as a choice?
they operated for 40 years claiming they could cure homosexuality even their leader claimed he used to be gay. After 40 years they admitted they were wrong and their president admitted he was never cured.

That was from an article I posted from the 'Gay Patriot', the author agreed with me on reparative therapy. I do agree with that sentance the author wrote, if you're asking.Goat wrote: [Replying to post 107 by East of Eden]
Why don't you read your post 95. It says that. Perhaps it was a copy paste job.
However, it appears in that post, you indeed said that.

Here is a study from New Zealand linking homosexuality with childhood trauma:DanieltheDragon wrote:East of Eden wrote:There is a lot of childhood trauma in the childhood of gays, perhaps that could explain the depression and suicide, and I would suggest homosexuality itself.DanieltheDragon wrote: [Replying to post 103 by East of Eden]
I just thought of a way to test your theory though.
interview LGTB people who had supportive parents and were not bullied or discriminated for their orientation. See if depression and suicide compares in that group vs the general population
this is how you can test a theory you eliminate variables and isolate your hypothesis.
conversely you can test straight kids that have been through similar trauma and see if both groups have similar rates of depression and suicide.
to suggest homosexuality behavior as the root you would need to eliminate other psychological variables such as trauma discrimination and bullying.

The link mentions another 1992 study that found a similar corelation:
"One 1992 study found that 37% of homosexual and bisexual men attending sexually transmitted disease clinics had been encouraged or forced to have sexual contact before age 19 with an older or more powerful partner. The median age of first contact was 10 years old."

again correlation is not causation. trauma does many thing. Indeed LGBT Kids are exposed to trauma. HOWEVER this is not a cause, you could ask are these kids being abused because they are gay or confused and make themselves easier targets?
Also the majority of child rape victims are straight which suggests whether one experiences trauma or not the rate of homosexuality remains constant as with nature.
