They do say that 26% of those who are classified as No Religion, which was 12% of the sample, voted for Romney. I don't know that all those 12% would be atheists, but the atheists should all be in that subgroup.

Thank you I had not seen that, but that should scare everyone. 70 % of unbelievers voted for Obama.

Why would that be scary? If 70% of unbelievers had voted for Romney, would that also be scary?

70% of any one class / race should scare you to death. That shows basically brainwashing. They are Lost and yes I'm including blacks. When blacks vote 90% one way it shows they are lost as well or lets say it this way they are voting for another reason beside morals, principles and so on.

They don't care about issues really or the ones they do care about are superficial. What can you do for me or I can't stand GOD as atheist say and they know Obama doesn't accept Jesus as his lord and savior.

Basic answer?

In a way, yes.

Whenever a specific group votes proportionately higher one way or another than the general public, it is because of some perception of the group; that is, African Americans vote for Obama...because he's 'black.' It's a dumb reason to vote for anybody; skin color does not reflect political expertise or ability to lead, one way or another.

Mormons may well have voted for Romney because he is Mormon. I voted for him because he reflected the views I believe in; trust me, I wouldn't vote for Harry Reid!

If atheists voted for Obama in disproportionate numbers (and it looks as if they did), then it is because they are concerned about something OTHER than his politics.

...............and that is a problem.

Have you guys ever heard of the third variable problem? Because 70% of nonbelievers voted left it does not necessarily mean they voted left because they are non believers. I recall reading that the majority of non-believers live in left-leaning state, likely because it is easier to lose faith in places where faith is less enshrined. It may be the correlation between non-religiosity and voting for Obama could be explained by the fact non-religious people live in places more likely to vote for the Democrats.

You have a point.

IF the non-believers in those left leaning areas vote, proportionately, with the general public around them, you definitely have a point...one that I actually MADE, by the way.

But what if they didn't? How DID the atheists who live in a 'red' state vote?

Religion was not even a factor in this election. Romney's dirty Mormon laundry (garments)

Yep, that tells me that you weren't worried about religion, yep.
Thanks for misrepresenting my post and chopping off the rest of what I said. Nice tactic to try and make me look like I contradicted myself. Here is my real post with the part you left out bolded.

Religion was not even a factor in this election. Romney's dirty Mormon laundry (garments) were already hashed out by mainstream Christianity (I mean FOX NEWS) in the last election. Obama never once played the religion card. Hell, half of us don't even know what he believes and don't care.

Why should that scare anyone? Many "unbelievers" as you call them are actually highly intelligent people.

Some of the greatest minds in all of humanity were "unbelievers" like Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, and the list goes on.

So this could mean that Obama was chosen by the more intelligent voters.

Romney was promising to pull the carpet out from under the poor and needy. That's anti-Jesus behavior already.

Romney was promising to pull the plug on alternative energy research and fund fossil fuel industries for a quick financial fix.

Would that have worked for a "quick financial fix"? Perhaps so, but at what cost? The cost of a moral obligation toward the environment and Global warming?

Romney was also promising to increase military spending far above what the military was even asking for. Why? Was he planing on starting a war with someone?

Romney also show very little understanding of how to handle foreign policies diplomatically.

Like I said before, we can all thank God that Obama won.

With any luck, all of America will one day become a mostly atheistic nation and we can finally move up in our moral standing.

Well one thing you can say is GOD / JESUS allowed Obama to win. The Lord puts all leaders in power or allows them to have power, but doesn't mean it's heaven sent. Take Hitler for example. The lord allowed him to have power but he wasn't Heaven sent or maybe he was as it brought the Jews back into their land to fulfill bible prophecy.

See the lord works all things together for his will and for good to those who love him. The Lord said the Jews would have that land again and would never leave it and they have it.

So Obama could be a Hitler / Anti-Christ. He can't stand bible thumping / gun toting Christians. He may be the Christian version of the Egyptian Pharaoh that didn't want to let the Jews go, but anyway he does not love this country and Jesus has allowed it. Pharaoh didn't want to loss slave labor, taxes and so on and Obama doesn't want to lose that either. Just as the Pharaoh he wants to be in charge.

So true Christians aren't mad. We know all this must come to pass, but doesn't mean we have to be part of it, but see this will fulfill more bible prophecy because the ones who you see wanting to get back to the constitution will not take the mark of the beast coming soon.

These will be pointed out to be the problem of the world, because we just want go along. Remember broad is the way many shall fall, narrow is the path few will find. Which way is the wind blowing? It's blowing away from Jesus. The majority are turning their back on the lord, but the scripture tells us a great rebellion must come first and we are witnessing it right now.

It's my own personal view that Obama is far more Christ-like than Romney.

I would suspect that if Jesus were alive in American he too would have voted for Obama over Romney.

I feel confident that Jesus would be accusing Romney of being a hypocrite just as he had accused the Pharisees.

Obama sides with the poor, and the needy, and those who are hypocritically rejected by the religious zealots of the day. Just like Jesus did.

Look at the so-called "religious" agenda. They are just out to condemn their neighbors by judging them to be sinners. Jesus himself taught 'Thou shalt not judge others', and to 'love your neighbor as thy self'. Something that "Christians" seem to have great difficulty with.

So I don't see where these modern day religious "Christians" even remotely reflect the views of Jesus.

Moreover, as I pointed out earlier, Romney was prepared to pull the rug out from under the poor and the needy, and also pull the rug out from under alternative energy research, all in favor of raping the fossil fuels of the planet so the rich could worship more mammon.

I don't see where Romney's position could even be remotely associated with the moral values attributed to Jesus.

In fact, what are you doing in this very thread but trying to use Jesus as a club to condemn Obama.

I think the RIGHT MAN got in and Jesus would be proud. After all, Obama himself is a Christian.

To each their own.

I'm just offering my perspective. ;)

And what exactly constitutes a "True" Christian?

Someone who uses Jesus as a battering ram to judge others? (something Jesus himself rebuked)

Or someone who actually follows the moral principles that Jesus actually taught?

Well lets say the bible is true for a second. That means we are closer to the end of times not future. The bible tells us what will happen at the end times. He said it will get worse and the only one that will have any answer but will be the false one or the anti-christ.

So Obama is in the wrong position either way. It's either going to get worse or he is the anti-christ

Now the bible tells us people like you

Romans 1:21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.

The bible also tells us the end times will be like the days of Lot. In those days they would not help the poor and needy. That's what obama care will be when the economy goes broke.

We are heading for hard times
