Hello all

Post by kingu »

I would just like to introduce myself to this forum as i think it quite rude to enter without doing so. Just online English pleasantry i suppose.

I live in Manchester, England and have been doing the rounds on RD.net and the O.U, and felt i needed a bit of a change to my routine, and hopefully immerse myself in other topics.

Regards, Kingu

RD.net is the official Richard Dawkins website - I am also a poster there. OU? Dunno. I thought it stood for the Open University, a long-standing distance learning institution.

Welcome to the forum, kingu! I'm down the road, near Liverpool.

For some unknown reason we get a quite a share of people from the UK. Perhaps someone should start a usergroup like "From Britain" or "Lives in the UK"?

Yes, it is rather odd isn't it. There are a few other British members here, as otseng pointed out. Ha! Tocky. My other half works near Crocky (Toxteth and Croxteth, in case anyone else is remotely interested) and Old Swan, but I tend to stay away from there. I haven't been to the city centre since it was all redeveloped. I doubt I'd recognise it now.

Haha, you tend to stay away from there do you? So no favourite pubs then? I do remember the "Kenny Re-gen" project around the City but i have not been up that area recently. Though i did work at Canada Dock for a few months leading up to Christmas. On the HMS Intrepid! Sadly, she is almost cut up for scrap now.

Thanks for my warm welcome.
