That Fatal 7th Day

Post by Confused »

It seems to me that God rested a day too soon. Why? He makes the claim that all was very good. So He rested. Hindsight is always 20/20, but I have to wonder, if God hadn't rested that day, if He had spent a little more time instructing/teaching/nurturing His creation, just as parents should be doing for their children, would that fatal fall of man occurred?

Why did He rest? Why did He alienate His creation so quickly and then condemn them for messing up? If He knew there was a "not good" serpent in the Garden, why would He have allowed mankind, in its infancy stage alone with such a condemning creature in His creation?

Can anyone logically explain to me why a Creator would act so irresponsible and then in a fit of rage, condemn the outcome? What could God have done to prevent such a fatal event? And where did His compassion go on that fatal day? Are we not simply acting as we learned from Him?

What we do for others and the world remains
and is immortal.

Can anyone logically explain to me why a Creator would act so irresponsible and then in a fit of rage, condemn the outcome?
Especially when he knew what the outcome would be beforehand?
What could God have done to prevent such a fatal event?
Some suggestions:
  • Explain the consequences to Adam and Eve of eating from the tree, ie. you will be kicked out of the garden and all your ancestors will be cursed.
Assign a few angels to make sure the talking snake remained out of the garden.
Keep his omnisicience switched on so that he could quickly scare the talking snake away when it turned up
Put a cherubim and a flaming sword in place to protect it like he did with the Tree of Life later on after he realised he had been complacent and apathetic about the tree of knowledge.
Not put the tree within their grasp to begin with?

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.

Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.

There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
