Hi
I wanted to share with you a relatively new site which deals with a seemingly unsolvable interfaith problem - The Temple Mount in Jerusalem and offers an incredible idea, that actually is backed by Jewish sources and law (Halacha). This is really exciting in my opinion, although I cannot evaluate the Jewish law it was publish in one of the leading periodicals in Israel.
They have a painting with the the church of the holy sepulcher there! As Christians, do we have any connection for the Temple Mount? except of the history of Jesus?

“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Good luck with that. My prediction is that the Holy Mount problem will not be solved short of keeping everyone out or by rational people abandoning religion.
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

Re: The Temple Mount In Jerusalem
Post #4I don't regard it as a problem myself. Though there are some few Orthodox Jews who seem to want to build a third Temple, I don't think many modern liberal Jews care about it much. We've done fine without a Temple for 2,000 years and see no need to restore it now. Most Israeli Jews are nonreligious and don't much care either.
As my rabbi put it, "Who wants a holy slaughterhouse in the middle of downtown Jerusalem?"
Judaism has moved past the need for a Temple. From what I've seen and read, the group that's hot to build a Temple is fundamentalist Christians who think it's vital to fulfilling prophecies of the End Times according to a very peculiar and relatively recent interpretation of their Scriptures. "Premillenial dispensationalism" did not exist before 1800 or 1850, and the majority of Christians don't buy into it today.
It's a non-issue. The Muslims can have the Temple Mount. We Jews don't need it any more.
