150 year anniversary of Origin of Species

Post by otseng »

The year 2009 is the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species (24 November 1859) and the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth (12 February 1809).

In preparation of the 150 year anniversary next year, I'd like to have read through the book. Anyone want to join me? Ideally, I'd like to go through it as a book debate.

You can read it online at http://www.literature.org/authors/darwi ... f-species/
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

It's an excellent book if a little dated now.

I've started a signup list. Sign up if you'd like to debate the book.
