A right being discussed

Australia currently doesn't have a Bill of Rights. However some states are drafting Human rights acts. The Western Australian Human Rights act has a right that states:

The right of everyone to take part in cultural life, to enjoy the benefits of scientific progress and its
applications and to benefit from the protection of the moral and material interests resulting from any scientific, literary or artistic production of which he is the author.

Sounds to me that they mean non-material benefits of authorship, such as proper recognition when the work is being cited. It also sounds like they need a common sense rewrite.

FYI, there is no similar copyright reference in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms nor, I believe, in the US Bill of Rights.

There's none anywhere else in Australia either. WA thought they would put in economical, social and cultural rights as well as civil and political.
