I was wrong, and I'm apologizing here.

The verse is a logical statement. "A fool has said in his heart: there is no God." It is logical, because logic when applied properly does not answer the question of whether there is or isn't a God. Science does not address "spirit." So, the logical hypothesis for many an atheist is: there is no God that meets my standard of what is logical. That is not saying "there is not any God" it just says they "do not find the realiy of God convincing." Whether i agree with that or not is of no consequence, but they have considered, usually, the information they have, interpreted it accordingly, and reach their conclusion. The "fool" part , and I tread water I suppose by trying to explain this and hope it is not misunderstood, is when someone just claims "There is no God!" and believes that settles the issue. I find very few people who actually ever do that, but when someone really does say "IN HIS HEART" there is no God, then the argument really does appear to be "foolish" in the sense that they reach conclusions that they may not have evidence for, but neither do they have evidence against. But instead they fill in the gaps with what is "in their heart." As a rule, no one needs to label a fool a fool. A fool will be self-evident in their approach and the way they argue. I hope that is clear and that if you have a question you will ask before assuming.
I personally apologize to all who I have disregarded when stating my opinion. I was wrong, as the moderators have pointed out, and I will do my best not to be so again. I wrongly assumed that my position was the only position to ascribe to, and failed to realize the logic of my opposition. I will work to correct my errors, and amend them accordingly. It was never my intent to negate anyone's opinion, only to express my own. I failed to accept any other opinion than my own, and I am at fault for doing so. I sincerely accept any rebuke that falls on me.

I failed to defend my assertions, and for that I will accept the fact that I was wrong. I will hope in the future I can support my position with sound logic, and proper reasoning. I apologize to any and all who might have felt my position had merit, and I will work in the future to regain your trust and respect.

I greatly appreciate what you have done here. It takes a big person to make an acknowledgement like this.

I myself will say thanks for having the passion to bring it up if it bothered you. Your honesty was/is much appreciated. I will admit that when you first brought it up, I had never heard the concern before, and I really did have to put some thought to it as to whether or not the verse was totally out of line or out of context.
"Iron sharpens iron" as they say, and your skepticism allowed me to an opportunity to sharpen my perspective. We will probably cross paths again in the heat of a debate, but please know that I appreciate your honesty. For what it is worth, you have my respect as an opponent. (I could not find a thumbs-up emoticon or I would have inserted a few here)...

First off, let me say that I appreciate your apology and your honesty. I will add you to the Admits Mistakes group should you request it.

Regrettably, I must point out the rule: 3. When you start a new topic in a debate subforum, it must state a clearly defined question(s) for debate. Unless you wish for someone to debate your self-accusation, there is no question for debate and I am moving this to a discussion area.

Your honesty and integrity here is very refreshing. It takes a lot to self analyze from another perspective, but it can only benefit you in the end if you do it with an open mind. You have showed much respect in this post and I think it is a marker for myself and others to try to achieve as well. Thank you.

On the one hand, I'm glad he can admit to a mistake. On the other, I don't think he was mistaken this time.

After joey recieved the accolades for his "apology", then he retracted it. He was the one who asked for evidence for this.
