Agenda is a list of things that needs to be done. Evolution has no such list as nothing needs to be done.

Atheism? That might make sense if there were no theistic evolutionists, such as Francis Collins, Ken Miller and the like. But since there are, it makes no coherent sense.

However, it does make sense, given that all creationists are Bible-believing Christians, that creationism has the agenda of fundamentalist Christianity. Intelligent Design is a little more covert but the wedge document is an interesting revelation to what their agenda is. It's nice to know the Discovery Institute feels science is like an apologetics seminar and that it ought to consider issues like belief in god, the morality of sexuality and abortion, and to seek that "Major Christian denomination(s) defend(s) traditional doctrine of creation & repudiate(s)."

What a joke science becomes when your objectives are opinion polls and positive media, among this other nonsense. Personally, I find this kind of dishonesty really disappointing.

In short, evolution is just like any other science. It's easy to see why the detractors are not.

Does evolution have an agenda? Is it a living, breathing entity that would have meaningful purpose in its actions?

Evolution is a scientific process subject to the scientific method. Anyone who would seek to imply it is not intelligent science should probably update their education in the matter.
What we do for ourselves dies with us,
What we do for others and the world remains
and is immortal.

Never be bullied into silence.
Never allow yourself to be made a victim.
Accept no one persons definition of your life; define yourself.

What is the agenda of gravity? Or of any other Scientifically observable phenomenon? What an odd and, on the surface, ignorant line of inquiry. Piglet seems a little bit nuts here (or perhaps merely extremely ignorant of even the most basic aspects of science?).
Geology: fossils of different ages
Paleontology: fossil sequence & species change over time.
Taxonomy: biological relationships
Evolution: explanation that ties it all together.
Creationism: squeezing eyes shut, wailing "DOES NOT!"

To piss off people who's religious beliefs conflict, apparently. Bridge Stress Theory and Germ Theory have had the good fortune not to come across as much as trying to cause trouble.

Anyone who has read about evolution knows that evolution has no agenda, but I suspect that we were meant to address the alleged agenda of evolutionists rather than evolution.

You see, evolutionists need an excuse for debauchery, so we must deny the clear proven reality of the Deity who created us. That way we can ignore our God given consciences and rape and pillage at will.
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
First Epistle to the Church of the Thessalonians
The truth will make you free.

I'm very glad for your brain and its reputation that you were being sarcastic. As you well understand, but cannot be stated enough, Deities never have been nor ever will be clear and distinct realities. Logical arguments for AND against the existence of God can and have been argued in circles for centuries. Nothing will ever prove or disprove a Deity.

What can be said is that there is no direct evidence of supernatural interference in the universe because, by definition (as was so poignantly explained by Dr. Phil Plait) the supernatural does not exist! If something interacts with our universe in detectable and predictable ways, then it is, by definition, natural and subject to science. Life, being natural, is a prime example of something that is subject to science...its origins on the verge of being explained by the abiogenesis hypothesis (elaborated on here: and its progression VERY thoroughly explained by the theory of evolution.

And therein lies the agenda of evolution: to explain the diversity of organic life. The agenda of evolutionists: to spread knowledge of evolution and, more specifically, to foil attempts of including non-science in science classes.

Evolution doesn't have an agenda. It would have to have some kind of end goal for that. Some, not all, but some people who hold to the theory have an agenda. What that is can be wide and varied from using it as a Biblical antithesis to someone just saying they it is scientific just to make themselves sound smart (without really knowing what it is).

It has the same agenda as gravity, quantum theory, and general relativity.
