Now as you all know, I believe in God. I think he is real and I think that for a time he guided mankind. However, I am increasingly holding the opinion that God is standing aside and allowing us to take a path.

Does Satan control the Powerball Lottery?
Post #1It is a first class human tragedy that people of the earth who claim to believe in the message of Jesus, whom they describe as the Prince of Peace, show little of that belief in actual practice.

I dunno. Perhaps God let him win so that he could be tracked down.A convicted Level 3 sex offender has won $10 million in the Massachusetts State Lottery.
The Worcester Gazette & Telegram reports 56-year-old Daniel Snay, of Uxbridge, could now face charges because he failed to notify authorities that he had moved, according to Connecticut State Police.

Interesting idea. Like a bigger version of the fake raffle give away. I do wish God had used a slightly smaller amount however. Giving a sex offender 10 mil? Why not 1000? Enough to get him caught but not enough to really reward him on earth.otseng wrote:I dunno. The young rabbi was an avid golfer. Even on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year, he snuck out by himself for a quick nine holes.
On the last hole he teed off, and a gust of wind carried his ball directly over the hole and dropped it in for a hole-in-one.
An angel who witnessed this miracle complained to God, "This guy is playing golf on Yom Kippur, and you cause him to get a hole in one? This is punishment? "
"Of course it is," said the Lord, smiling. "Who can he tell? "

Probably so that it'll cover the 10 mil fine that the Connecticut State Police will most likely impose on him.achilles12604 wrote:Giving a sex offender 10 mil? Why not 1000? Enough to get him caught but not enough to really reward him on earth.

Now if that happens, I will personally apologize and reconsider my position about God's direct intervention.otseng wrote:Probably so that it'll cover the 10 mil fine that the Connecticut State Police will most likely impose on him.achilles12604 wrote:Giving a sex offender 10 mil? Post #7Are you serious? Jesus specifically says not to give a darn about material possessions. Why in the heck would He care who wins the lottery? If this is the reason you cannot accept Gods interventions, then I would suggest you return to understanding what God values. It certainly isn't how much jewelry, fancy cars, or big houses you can buy.achilles12604 wrote:Now as you all know, I believe in God. I think he is real and I think that for a time he guided mankind. The heresy must be going to your brain. We should return to the basic foundations of Christianity to be reminded of what we really mean to God and what He really wants of us.
Its all just one big puzzle.
Find out where you fit in.

Post #8If material possessions are not important why not give the 10 mil to a hopeless family with 5 adopted kids from troubled family backgrounds (not hypothetical)?alexiarose wrote:Are you serious? Post #9I don't think people would buy lottery tickets if they knew that the winnings would only go to some other hopeless family instead of their own.achilles12604 wrote: If material possessions are not important why not give the 10 mil to a hopeless family with 5 adopted kids from troubled family backgrounds (not hypothetical)?
