Introducing myself

Post by studentem »

Greetings from the land of Haggis!

I'm just a student with a casual interest in philosophy of religion, hoping to observe some interesting discussion. I suppose I am officially a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, but my religious experiences pretty much ended after getting dunked in the magic water by the man in the dress :). At the moment, I remain unconvinced by arguments for the plausibility of Jesus' magic powers (along with his lineage) and attempts to deduce the existance of the Christian God from First Cause arguments. In short, I would call myself an atheist or a pastafarian, which may not be such a sound philosophical position, but does involve dressing up as pirates and eating pasta.

Hoping to learn a few things, studentem

Welcome.

Haggis is primarily associated with Scotland, but there is also some connection to Greece – and you refer to Greek Orthodox. Which is correct?

I hope you contribute as well as learn.

My ancestors are from Scotland. My sister lives in Glascow. I actually enjoy haggis.
