INTRO: ShadowRishi

Hello, I'm a physics (and potentially a mathematics) major at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio.

I study physics and mathematics in my spare time, as would be obvious, lol. I also picked up debating from a site that had nothing to do with debate. Then in December of 2005 I found a place that did debating as the main thing, and I debated there until September of 2007. (Last month) I and the administrator of the site had it out, and I decided it was time for a change in debating places. I've heard this place is a lot more civil than most, and that sounds like a good change. The place I was on was quite hostile and usually turned into heated debates rather than actual intellectual discourses.

Anyways, I also study religion and mythology on the side. I got interested in world religions when I left the Christian faith in July of 2005. Since then, I've studied just about every current major, several minor, and most archaic major religions. I tend to deplore logically unsound Christian, and other religious, apologists.

As well, I also enjoy philosophy, specifically pertaining to logic, reasoning, and evidence.

This is strictly for fun:
As for as general information about who I am:

Philosophical naturalist (also known as a materialist)
Methodological empiricist
Epistemological agnostic
Theological atheist
Politically syncretized libertarian and liberal.

Favorite things:
Philosopher: <none>
Physicist: Aristotle, Newton, Lagrange, Hamilton, Heisenberg, and Einstein. As well as great physicists like Feynman.
Mathematician: Euclid, Archimedes, al-Kwarizmi, Descartes, Newton, Lagrange, Euler, Gauss, Hamilton, Riemann, and Rumanujan.

I've looked into Buddhism and Hinduism, and they are by far the two best religions I've ever seen, however they still cannot explain many of their claims about the universe.

Rumanujan was cool.

Thanks for the welcome. I don't think I'll be getting back in debating frequently, but I'll post here and there.
