Anyone heard of this? The fact that the guy dogs on evolution in the preview isn't a good sign. Though, from other things I've read from him, he's at least somewhat intelligent.

Also, bonus, Mike Seaver is there! Growing Pains! woo!

I am curious as to why any religious group would care that people do not believe in their religion.
Also, it must be remembered that in Europe they had the inquisitions and people there I would think believe the way they do because this has been handed down from their relatives for many generations. Europe broke the chains of christian tyranny long ago and these memories do not die all that easy. France gave the world Voltaire and he made leaps and bounds to help bring reason and freedom to the people of the world. There of course were many others but all of these people helped to unchain the brains and minds of all humans everywhere. I for one am in no big hurry to see a resurgence of church control over my mind or body in anyway whatsoever.
But, I would like to see the bible-less debate and also would like to know who they are debating. It is probably not Sam Harris, RIchard Dawkins, or Chris Hitchins. I do not think that Kirk and the other guy could stand up to that combined intelligence and knowledge without reverting to the bible or some other creed of the christian faith.

Moved to General Chat. Seems to be more a topic of discussion rather than debate.

Did anybody happen to see the debate? It was supposed to have happened on May 5...where and what is this guys "undeniable scientific proof that God exists"?

After watching Kirk Cameron in the "Left Behind" movies I certainly wouldn't take him seriously in a debate...accepting the "Left Behind" fiction as possible fact is ridiculous.

Comfort felt impelled to hold the debate, because he is worried about the state of Christianity around the world, especially in Europe. According to a Zukerman study, in Sweden as many as 85 percent of the population are non-believers; Japan has 65 percent; France with 54 percent; and 44 percent of British citizens do not believe in God.
Haha, this was funny. The the poor schmuchs in Sweden live a life with safety and comfort, with the security that there future children will have a healthy and well educated life.

I truly feel sorry for does Swedes, French and Japanese whom rather live a good and happy life, then a religious one.

"[T]here is something more sinister here than a few people not believing in God,” concluded the author. “Why would so many be so bitter against Christianity in particular?
Perhaps because of its hateful nature and the fact that it depict genocide, murder and slaughter as a good thing.
Why aren't they making videos that blaspheme Buddha
Because Buddha is a religion of peace and harmony.
or Mohammed or Ghandi? We made our own video clip and posted it on www.Hollywoodblasphemy.com to expose why."
They do.

There is the video of the debate. I'm watching it now.

Apparently the pro-god arguments includes a banana.
My version of Genesis.
At first there was symmetry. Then something broke.

I'd be more inclined to think that it was because people know less of Buddha, Mohammed or Ghandi than they do about characters in the Christian bible. It's harder to mock or satirise (is that a word?) something that people don't know anything about

Interesting, the atheists did not really give any answer to the question of "why is it wrong to go out and kill somebody," and the christians did not really give any answer to "why can't you just kill anybody, then ask for forgiveness."
