What bands does everyone listen to?

I am interested in comparing theist to non-theist music taste.
It is a first class human tragedy that people of the earth who claim to believe in the message of Jesus, whom they describe as the Prince of Peace, show little of that belief in actual practice.

I don't think that there are any universally listened to bands.

Music is the most precious thing in my life and I like a variety of music, usually depending on my mood at the time. I can't really say I have a favorite, each genre holds a special place in my heart and soothes my soul or compels my body to move. I would say for the sad times or mellow times, I like Trip-Hop or other soft rock artists: Portishead, Zero 7, Archive, RJD2, Red Snapper, Tori Amos, Sarah McClachlan, Babes in Toyland, Halou, Cat Power, Sade, Radiohead, PJ Harvey,Nora Jones, Milla, Jewell, Esthero, Evanescence, Nelly Furtado, and many more. Hip-Hop is of course my everyday musical taste and years ago I developed a mixtape series for myself and friends titled Wisdomatics. You're likely to find artists of all types: Mobb Deep, A Tribe Called Quest, Roots, Sage Francis, Atmosphere, Jay-Z, Chamillionaire, 2pac, KRS-One, Biggie, Bone, O.C., Ras Kass, Heltah Skeltah, O.G.C.,Black Moon, Coco Brovas/Smif-N-Wesson, Eminem, Cypress Hill, Mood, Capone-N-Norega, 50 Cent, Afu-Ra, Three-Six Mafia, Wu-Tang FOREVER, GZA/Genius (specifically Liquid Swords), Pharcyde, De La Soul, Digable Planets, Busta, Common, Darc Mind, P.A., Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Hieroglypics, Jedi Mind Tricks, and more, I could go on and on. Rock is also one of my passions. My all-time favorites since their first albums Nine- Inch Nails and Korn, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Marilyn Manson, At the Drive Inn, Factory 81, Spineshank, Slipknot, Fear Factory, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Fishbone, Helmet, Deftones, Reveille, Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, Ministry, Thrice, White Zombie/Rob Zombie, System of a Down, Static-X, so many more. Then there's the rhythmn of my soul, dance music. I love house above all else on the dance floor and in my player you'll usually find drum and bass or some melodic, soulful house. My favorites are many, Tortured Soul, Stacey Kidd, Paul Johnson, Feelgood, Dubtribe, Daft Punk, Prodigy, Faithless, DJ Heather, DJ Collete, DJ Rap, Soulslinger, ODI, Freaky Flow, EIB, Diesel Boy, AK1200, Dara, 3D and Snuggles, Todd Edwards, DJ Hype, Crystal Method, and so many others that have made my body move over the years. Music is the essence of my soul and without it I would parrish in a pit of self-imposed misery. With every step, my theme song plays, a different song for everyday, I walk to the beat of a different tune, thoughts exumed, I recreate my mindstate and hold in my hand my own fate...play it loud sing it proud, dare to create, maintain an original state... ..."

I'm lazy and I like music too much so I just copied and pasted from my myspace page.
Dubtribe Soundsystem from San Francisco:

HONOR each other... ONE LOVE, ONE BOND, between all people, no matter what your COLOR, no matter what your RACE, your CREED, your CULTURE, your PREFERENCE, your PRIDE, RISE, and come together with ONE LOVE

I listen to everything from hip hop to jazz to gospel to classical to rock to some of the light rap (Timberland, Usher). The only thing I don't care for is heavy metal and heavy rap. I see little art in these.

What we do for others and the world remains
and is immortal.
