While christians gather today in their structures of great value, and spend untold amounts of money celebrating what some have called the greatest story ever told. I ask this question.
James 2:16 wrote:If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?
A holiday to celebrate the sacrifice of a homeless man who had little or no personal wealth seems to have become a financial boon. People spending money for clothes, chocolate, pets, food, activities and events. If Jesus were crucified today, I would expect to see Pat Robertson and many other christians hawking tshirts and cheap knock off watches down the street. Fallwell could sell sunglasses.
For others it is the Greatest Story ever Sold. Even Mel made millions making a snuff film about it.
I hardly think that if there was a Jesus, and anything in the gospels were true, this would be the result intended. If christians are concerned about the 'moral decline' of america, or the world. Perhaps you should examine what christianity has become.
Instead of blaming it on the gays, the atheists, the muslims, mexicans, blacks, jews or even each other (prot vs cath .........) accept that it is all our faults. Christianity has become obsessed with the sinful nature of others for one simple reason. It is easier than looking at yourself.
