is just look
at all the Christians
in the whole world.
They all profess to be born again
children of God
saved by faith
ONE BIBLE
AND YET
JUST LIKE HERE
YOU WILL FIND THEM
NOT AGREEING UPON ANYTHING
EXCEPT THEY ARE RIGHT
AND ALL ELSE WHO
DOES NOT INTERPRET
THE VERSES FROM
THEIR ONE BOOK
AS IT IS WITH THEM
IS WRONG.
SO THE TRUTH IS OBVIOUS.
THEY ALL HAVE THEIR OWN PRIVATE INTERPRETATION
OF THAT TO WHICH IS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE.
JUST LIKE IT IS WITH THE CONSTITUTION OF THE USA.
I HAVE NO INTERPRETATION
OF ANYTHING IN THE BIBLE.
I TAKE IT WORD FOR WORD
AS IT IS WRITTEN
NO MORE AND NO LESS.
YES MEANS YES
NO MEANS NO.

Wow that's amazing! So you're the only one that doesn't have a private interpretation.
Lets test this. I am going give no interpretation for the scripture below and you tell us if we can except exactly what the scripture says word for word?
"For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten." Ecc 9:5

So what about this scripture. Should it be taken word for word as you say?
"For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten." Ecc 9:5

Re: YOUR OWN PRIVATE INTERPRETATIONS
Post #8Sometimes even the most direct statement can be interpreted more than one way, and honestly.
JW had an example of this posted, which was somebody saying, "Ronald Reagan lived longer than any US President."
Now, obviously, the writer meant that Reagan lived longer than any other US President. This was JW's example of an honest adding of the word other to the statement.
An absolutely direct, word-for-word reading of the statement would mean that the writer thought Reagan was never the President.
Now this is even without translation. The Bible was written in Hebrew, translated into Greek, and the ones most of us read are I believe translated from the Greek translation into English.
There is actually a deeper question here involving the facts that all of us know we could be wrong, some people say they can't be wrong, and yet we all also know from experience and history that trusting those who say they can't be wrong over ourselves would be ruinous.
Now I'm not religious, but what I would say if I were is that something that appears more than one way, is supposed to have layers, and whichever layer your faculties land you on, is the one you are supposed to land on.
