Re: Evil thoughts?
Post #2Not evil, but perhaps wrong if it psychologically impairs or disrupts a person. OR, perhaps right if the fantasizing takes the place of actually molesting children.

I say it’s about time to start disciplining the mind or seek best practice psychiatry.
The shame corner for the naughty child as matter of parenting?

I'm cool! - Stronger Religion every day! Also by "mathematical Religion", the eternal forms, God closing the door on corrupt humanity, possibly!

Re: Evil thoughts?
Post #4Given what we understand of DNA et al - things which were once socially accepted - taken for granted - done without guilt - which are then considered to be evil by a more modern society which has connected the dots and discovered therein that the act of abusing children has social consequences primarily in the negative - this works against the society advancing and is thus seen as a threat which requires dealing to.
Thinking about [fantasize about] molesting children may be a throwback connection to those former actions we can inherit but if they are not recognized as such and dealt with accordingly, the chances one will eventually be dissatisfied with mere fantasy and proceed to actualizing will significantly increase and the results will not be easy to deal with for either the victim nor the victimizer.
One may not be able to stop the birds flying overhead, but one is able to stop them nesting in ones hair.

Re: Evil thoughts?
Post #5YES! According to the bible God views both thoughts and actions that are contrary to his will and purpose as sins and sins by biblical definition are wrong.
2 CORINTHIANS 10 verse 5
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ

Post #6So, if I come across a man lying with a male as with a woman and don't put them to death, which is in opposition to god's will as he made it known in Leviticus 20:13, then I've committed a sin. However, if I come across a woman lying with a female as with a man I can let them live and wouldn't have committed a sin because god never said they should die for their shameful behavior.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Wed Sep 21, 2022 11:32 pmBiblically, yes: According to the bible God views both thoughts and actions that are contrary to his will and purpose as sins.
Boy, talk about serious misandry

Re: Evil thoughts?
Post #7No. The sin would not be in not executing them, it would be in approving of their actions.

Post #8DOES THE BIBLE CONDEMN HOMOSEXUAL ACTS BETWEEN WOMEN?
Yes, scripture classifies such acts as "disgraceful"
ROMANS 1 : 26
That is why God gave them over to disgraceful sexual passion, for their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature... Although these know full well the righteous decree of God—that those practicing such things are deserving of death—they not only keep on doing them but also approve of those practicing them.

Re: Evil thoughts?
Post #9So, would god be fine with merely disapproving their actions here? Of course not because it isn't about approving or disapproving, it's about killing or not killing.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 3:11 amNo. The sin would not be in not executing them killing it would be in approving of their actions.

Post #10Still looking for a verse ordering practicing homosexual women to be killed.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 3:23 amDOES THE BIBLE CONDEMN HOMOSEXUAL ACTS BETWEEN WOMEN?
Yes, scripture classifies such acts as "disgraceful"
ROMANS 1 : 26

Although these know full well the righteous decree of God—that those practicing such things are deserving of death—they not only keep on doing them but also approve of those practicing them.
And as far as ROMANS 1:26 goes, there's all kinds of translations describing such women:
Romans 1:26
English Standard Version
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;
Douay-Rheims American Edition
For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
Therefore, God handed them over to degrading passions. Their females exchanged natural relations for unnatural,
Worldwide English (New Testament)
That is why God left them to do the [doing] wrong things they wanted to do. Their women left the right way for women and did things that are wrong for women to do.
Orthodox Jewish Bible
For this reason, Hashem (in wrath) delivered them over to paskudneh (contemptible) sexual desires. For their females traded off natural sexual intercourse for unnatural.
J.B. Phillips New Testament
Their women exchanged the normal practices of sexual intercourse for something which is abnormal and unnatural.

But none saying they deserve death. Heck even in your own Bible, the New World Translation, does Romans 1:26 say anything about " those practicing such things are deserving of death.'
Romans 1:26 (New World Translation)
That is why God gave them over to disgraceful sexual passion,+ for their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature;+
That is why God gave them over to disgraceful sexual passion,+ for their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature;+
The only mention of "those practicing such things are deserving of death" comes several verses later in Romans 1:32 where god plops practicing homosexuals in with "those not acknowledging him and those "filled with",unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice, being whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, schemers of what is harmful, disobedient to parents, without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, and merciless."
So being haughty, boastful, or disobedient to one's parents is as sinful and deserving of death as a woman lying with another female. Although one must note that "deserving of death" is not the same as an order to be killed. So while a practicing homosexual women could be said to deserve death, nowhere is she ordered to be killed as men are in Leviticus 20:13. Such a women could live a full life while deserving of death, unlike practicing homosexual men who would have to be killed on the spot.
